I talked to my kids tonight!

Matt, Bernie and I watched movies all night. (Failure to Launch and The Family Stone, didn't care for Failure but the Family Stone was really good!) After they were over Matt picked up the phone and called my parents house......I could feel the pit in my stomach begin to ache as I heard Kaylee talking to her dad. (Jack heard her and he stood up and looked towards the door....he misses her too) After about 10 minutes he gave the phone to me and I talked to my darling angel Kaylee. She is having fun. Told me all about the fort that she built and something about a crayon box that she made for all of her crayons. After we were done I told her to put Aaron on and the little stinker didn't want to talk to me.....said he would talk to me when he got home....Kaylee informed him that it would be weeks before they were home so he reluctantly got on the phone to say hello to me. We talked for a few minutes about how much fun he is having and then he said "Do you want to talk to Papa?" I told him no and that he needed to talk to his dad. He said he didn't want to talk to his dad and I told him he had to and then he told me that he was just going up the stairs.....the next thing I know my dad was saying "hello" what a little stinker he is!! Dad told me that everything is going good and that Aaron is (as I have told them) a picky eater, and that they got a couple of bikes for them to ride. Said overall everything was going good. I am so relieved that Aaron is being good and isn't homesick but at the same time I really miss them both.....I know this is much harder on me then it is on them, just have to keep reminding myself that this is so good for them to be doing this and that they are going to remember how fun their summers were when they were younger when they got to spend them in South Dakota with grandma and papa.

How flattering

Tonight I was being lazy on the couch when there was a knock at the door. I got up and put the dogs in their room and answered it.....there was a man there and he said to me "Hello, are your parents home?" Can you believe that! I told him that I was the owner of this house and then he proceeded to ask me if I wanted to buy some steaks....a door to door man selling steaks. (he was in a truck that said said Gourmet Foods I then told him that I don't cook and he would be better off talking to my husband. (To which Matt told him no thank you and sent him on his way) I guess getting older isn't all that bad as long as you still look young.......I'm only 27 but soon enough I will not have "youngness" to fall back on. At least I can look back and remember moments like these.

X-Men The Last Stand

Tonight after work Kris, Donette, Joe and I went and seen X-men.....we have been planning this for a little while now and we have finally made it there to see the movie. (Next is either Superman or Pirates of the Caribbean) The movie was pretty good but it wasn't as good as part 2......I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

need your help

I was contacted to see if I would volunteer at the church again this year for Faith Formation.......I had told Barbara that I couldn't do it againt his year because I would have Aaron attending at 8:30 and Kaylee at 11:30 and I thought it would be to difficult for me well now they have changed the times and both kids are going to be at 9:30 so that would leave me with being able to teach.......I am not sure what to do! Last year was great but I am really not sure if I want to do it again! I feel like I am being called to do it again because they need teachers but I am not sure if this is really my calling. What do I do? Should I pray more about it? Should I tell them yes? Should I tell them no? I am so confused!!!!!

time for a makeover

I decided to go with a new look. I hope you like it. It seems a little more mature.

should I call my kids tonight?

I haven't heard from my kids yet......I figure they are having an absolute blast so I shouldn't bother them with telling them how much I miss them. I also don't want Aaron to start getting homesick and want me to come and get him right away. I am not sure what to do!!! Should I take the chance or should I wait a couple more days?!?!?!?!?!

to get satellite or not to get satellite

I love TV! There is nothing I like more then to sit down and watch a movie on TV or a sitcom or a drama or even a gossip show about celebrities. So when Matt and I moved into this house 6 years ago we decided that we weren't going to get satellite again because we watch to much TV and we really don't want the kids to grow up being that way when they should be playing outside or reading a book or playing a game or playing with their friends. TV is great in so many ways but horrible in other ways and I know that we have made the right decision with not getting it.....Kaylee barely watches TV and Aaron watches a little but would rather be doing other things.......well the point of this blog is that lately I have been really thinking about getting it......I want a TiVo really bad! Oh the shows I could watch with one of those and skip all the commercials it would be heaven! I have yet to give in to getting it and I haven't said a word about it to Matt because he would jump on it and go and buy it right now! I just don't know how we would do with it. I think Kaylee would be fine, honestly she doesn't care that much about TV but Aaron might end up like me and want to watch it all the time! Turning him into a TV junkie.....the one thing that I do not want to happen to him! And me I am afraid that I would go back to my old ways of watching it all the time and get nothing done around here that I need to get done! As it is I have the shows that I have to watch that include........number 1 The Office (have you seen this? Absolute best show on television!!!) Lost, Desperate Housewives (congratulations Marcia Cross on getting married), The Amazing Race, Greys Anatomy....these are all number 2 and I don't think I have a number 3.......love them all the same! I just don't know what to do! Please Internet friends help me with this!!!! Give me your ideas so that I can make a decision on what to do!!! It has been pondering in my head for a couple months and I am still at a loss of what to do!

boo hoo

My kids have officially been gone 29 hours. I feel awfully lonely and would love to call them right now but I know that I can't. I have to let Aaron get use to being gone a little bit before I start calling to talk to him and make him homesick. Kaylee will be fine she loves being with her grandparents but this is a first time for Aaron. I am sure he will love it and if he doesn't we will have to do and pick them up early but right now everything is fine.

We are number 13!!!!!

We got the good news yesterday that we are the 13th best "SMALL" company (Kris you know what that means) to work for in America! Isn't that awesome. I am so blessed to work for such a wonderful company. My diamond in the rough is what I like to call it! I keep waiting for them to wake up say "we don't want you here anymore" but until that day happens (and hopefully never will!!!!) I am going to enjoy the ride with all of the wonderful people that I work with in this awesome company!

the kids are gone

Mom and dad left this morning and they took my kids along with them. As soon as they got into the car (hadn't even pulled away yet) I felt a huge knot in my stomach....I already missed them and they weren't even gone yet!!!! I am not sure how I am going to handle this yet but I have to look on the bright side of this.....it is so good for them to be able to do this. I want them to know my parents very well, not just as the grandparents that they get to see once a year but the grandparents that are a part of their lives. I want them to have wonderful memories of spending time with them.
I really didn't think Aaron was going to go. He was very skeptical about it. When it came time to pack he said he would do it later so I did it for him. He did pack up his fun bag though and he hugged Matt adn I goodbye and climbed into the car. He even had a smile on his face as he waved at me. Then he noticed the TV on the back of the seat and got even more excited! They are going to call when they get to Becky's house and let me know how everything is. We decided if need be I will pick him up there if he changes his mind and doesn't want to go the rest of the way. Keep your fingers crossed that he will make it through this.

The Alamo and the riverwalk

we wnt to the Alamo and the riverwalk all in the same day. The Alamo was a beautiful piece of history. I am so happy that I have been able to see this! I had no idea that it was downtown San Antonio....I thought it was out in the country some where.....apparently not. After that we walked down to the riverwalk. It was so pretty and so old there. We took the boat ride and had fun listening to our tour guide. Then we went to the convention center with mom and dad and walked around for a bit. Watched all of the dancers dance and looked at the vendors booths. We even took public transportation down there....that was an experience! It was actually ok and it saved us on parking fees.

blog on KOA

I have never stayed at a KOA campground before and let me tell you I was impressed! They had such good customer service that I can completely over look the fact that they closed shop 5 minutes before they were suppose to. They cleaned the bathrooms a couple of times a day.......they drove around on golf carts and cars to make sure everything was going ok.......they kept the camp ground clean!!!! I was very impressed. We all had a really good time while we were there. We had both of the campers side by side so if you walked out the doors you could see the other campers door. We were almost in our own world there! Had no idea what was going on in the "real" world and I think we all liked it that way!

SeaWorld part 3

OK, I had no idea that SeaWorld was going to be so much fun! I honestly thought it was going to be just like SixFlags......I had an OK time at SixFlags but I really don't care to ever go back! SeaWorld was so much different. Matt, the kids, my nephew JT and I went early Wednesday morning and stayed until it closed. Shamu is HUGE!!!!!!! The dolphins were wonderful! We watched all of the shows (the water skiers were a blast) and then we went to the amusement park. We went on a water ride. We were in a huge circle boat that floated down a man made river. We got a little wet but it wasn't bad and then came the waterfall.......Matt, Aaron and I got soaked!!! After that was over we decided to put on our bathing suits (to bad we didn't think of that 30 minutes earlier!!) We walked around in there for a little while looking at the roller coasters because JT wanted to ride one but the lines were to long so we went to the water park and played in there the rest of the time......Had an absolute blast and I would go again!

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers day dad......can't wait to see you in a couple of days!

sixflags part 3

Today was sixflags day. Matt and I took both kids early this morning for a day filled with roller coasters, teapots, and lots of walking!!! We got there about 9:30 and stood in line for it to open for about 30 minutes thankfully though they had 1 ride going so we got to do something as we waiting. Next we went on the Bobsleds.....it was pretty fun. Aaron (whom I just knew would be extremely scared) had the best time! He went on roller coasters and one elevator thing that drops in midair (Kaylee and I both said no to that one) but Aaron and Matt went and loved it, although Aaron decided he didn't want to do it again.....we went on the wooden roller coaster that goes up and down and up and down and the runaway mine roller coaster......I have decided that Aaron has been living a lie all these years (or maybe it is I choose to see him a certain way) and is a daredevil after all! We went and seen a acrobacs show....Kaylee and I both thought it was pretty cool.....the way they bend is amazing! Kaylee stood on the bridge that is above a log ride and got SOAKED!!!!! It didn't take her long to dry though because it was so hot outside! But her poor feet took a little longer.....she took her socks and shoes off and her feet were all wrinkled.......poor girl! She decided next time she would bring flip flops along so that she can change shoes. We decided to leave at 6:30 after we all decided that we couldn't stand in a line one more time because we were all tired (and yes a little grumpy) Over all we had a great time!

Ranger Baseball

Ribelin bought the company Ranger tickets this year. They played the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. We went and had a blast with my co-workers. We left a little early though....tomorrow is Sixflags day..........as long as it doesn't rain!
