TAKS

Kaylee was commended on her science TAKS test! Yeah for Kaylee. This was the one that I was really worried about. Didn't know how she would do and she ended up being commended. As soon as I get the "official" results I will post them and let you know her exact scores.

Water Park

We went to the water park tonight for the kids Sports Awards. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a blast....naturally I forgot my camera (I know I know you are still waiting for the Arizona photos to be posted) so no pictures were taken. All is good though! We will go back again this summer and I will get lots of photos taken!

Brand new computer

Matt hooked up our new computer today. What a nice and pretty computer it is. Everything is so fast! I can't believe it took us this long to actually get one. I can hardly wait to get busy blogging again. Now that I have this new and fancy computer I don't have any more excuses!

OK, so I have been a little busy.

The last thing on my mind lately is blogging. Not that I don't have plenty to say because I do, I just haven't had time to actually do it.
Most importantly is that Kaylee is being recommended for Pre-AP math next year. We went to a meeting about it the other night and then I spoke to her teacher about. Mrs. Garrett think she is more than reading to start the program and truly believes that she will be able to handle it. Kaylee decided that she is going to sign up for it next year. I know she is going to be great. The only thing that worries me is that she can tend to be a little lazy when it comes to homework (OK that might be putting it mildly going off of previous blogs that I have wrote) I talked to her about it though and she says that she can handle it. Good for her. Reach for those stars.
Kaylee just got back from 5th Grade camp. She said it was fun and that she learned a lot. Her and her partner (the school picked the partners) had some issues but other then that it was fun. (so she says) I think she might have had more fun if she was with Kenzie but they wanted all the "clicks" split up to make other friends.
I on the other hand had a little bit of a difficult time with her being gone. I always go with her when we go camping. (except for in February when I had the flu.....but my state of mind wasn't all there so that one doesn't count) I really missed her. Not sure if she missed me but I defiantly missed her.
Tomorrow is the end of the season ball games. I can hardly wait. It has been a fantastic season but I am ready for it to be over. They both have there end of year party at Hawaiian Falls next week. Cross your fingers that it doesn't rain! I won't be swimming because it is still way to cold for that but they will and they will have a blast.
I know that I had a ton more to write about but for the life of me I can't remember anything else right now! If I happen to recall everything I will blog again.

Night at the zoo

We went to Tyler on Friday night to spend the night at the Caldwell Zoo with Girl Scouts.
I really wasn't looking forward to sleeping another night on the floor but it ended up being really good. We talked about animals and got to pet a ferret and a lizard. Some of the girls got to pet e cock roach (I say some because some refused which included Kaylee and I) We got to feed the giraffes (very cool) and got very close to the elephants. We went on a night hike and the learned about Texas state "things" such as the flower (blue bonnet) the animal (armadillo) the flag and why it has one star and the state dance (are you ready for this mom and dad) the square dance! I had no idea. You would have been so proud of Kaylee. When she heard what the state dance was her hand flew into the air and she proceeded to tell our instructor that her grandparents are square dancers and her grandpa is a caller and they go all over going to dances. Very proud moment.
The night on floor was pretty rough but we survived and the following morning we got up and went on a hike in the daytime to see the stuff that we had missed. It was a lot of fun.

Battle of the wills

Aaron and I went round and round at the dinner table tonight. He is such a horrible eater that it is time for me to turn into "mean mom" again! Don't get me wrong he has come a very long way in his eating abilities but he still has a long way to go.
I made chicken noodle no soup for dinner and he refused to eat it because of the veggies that are in it. I told him that they are the same veggies that are in chicken noodle soup just bigger but he was having none of it! We fought and argued and fought some more! Thankfully aunt Skris bought him a snow cone maker today so I had that as my threat........it resorted to me telling him I was going to have her take it back to the store and he would never have a snow cone to get him to eat it. After many tears and telling me that I am not fair he took a bite.......surprise surprise he liked it and ate almost all of it!
Who would have thought that I just might know what I am talking about.
