credit cards
These things are such a pain the neck! They drive me crazy. I called Texans Credit Union today because I was paying off my card and canceling it at the same time, wouldn't you know it, I got a the company jerk for the CSR. After a while I told him to transfer me to another rep or a supervisor and he refused! Can you believe that. He told me there was nothing they could do different and as for transferring to a supervisor they would not handle something that trivial. Those weren't his exact words but close enough.......his name was Brad Williams so if you guys get a hold of this guy when you call Texans do not expect good service because you will not got it.......I should be like my friend Eileens father and write a very lengthy letter.......I'll let you know how that goes.
yoga pants
I bought myself a pair of these pants over the weekend from my favorite store (Old Navy)
Can I just tell you that these are the most comfortable pants that I have ever been in! I am going to go back and buy a couple more pair so that I don't have to keep wearing the same ones over and over (which yes I have been doing)
They definitely have my stamp of approval.

LL Cool J and I do not stand alone
We can add another high profile person to our corner! Madonna (I know a little shocking) will not allow her daughter to date until she is 18 either! On another note, she doesn't even allow her kids to watch TV......(she calls it trash)......I do allow mine but it is minimal. I've slacked a little over this past year but I am getting ready to get back on the no TV band wagon. Apparently Madonna and I have a few of the same ideas. (I'm not positive if that is really a good thing or not but I am going to take it like it is.)

Weekend
Not a lot going on.....the main blog has already been done (Kaylees b-day party) the rest of the weekend was a little bland. Saturday we were really lazy all day and Sunday we went to the church and the kids went to CCD, then to wal-mart for groceries and then later that day the kids and I went shopping. I took Kaylee to Claires first and she got some really cute jewelry from the money she got for her birthday and then we went to Target to spend Aarons money.
That is what we did the rest of weekend.........sorry it is so boring!

Big success
Kaylees birthday party was last night and I must admit it was a huge success! All the girls showed up a they appeared to have a fantastic time. They enjoyed the bowling and the pizza and cake and then the games afterwards. This hostess was 100 times better then the last one that we had! No complaints this time around!
We got home about 10:30 but the girls were not ready for bed. They stayed up in Kaylees room talking.......at one point I heard one of them same "who wants to play Truth or Dare?" I had no idea they even knew what that game was! I never heard any of the truths but 1 dare I heard was go and stick your head in the toilet. No one did it but it was thrown out there. They didn't fall asleep until after 3 so this morning when I made them all get up they weren't very talkative which was a nice change to the night we had before.
They were all gone by 11:00 so I laid down to take a nap. I only wanted about an hour nap but it ended up being 3 hours......oh well I guess I needed it. Hopefully I will fall asleep easily tonight!

Crazy Scientist
Not sure if I told you yet but right now Aaron is really into the Back to the Future Trilogy. He has been watching them over and over and over and over and over again (I really think he might be OCD.....he gets so obsessed with things) Last night while we were driving home from Church he informed me that when he gets old he is going to become a Scientist like Doc (Back to the Future) and he is going to build a time machine. I asked him where he was going to go when he builds it. His reply with hugely excited eyes........"You can go anywhere in a time machine!"
I certainly hope he does this because I know of quite a few things I could change!

TAKS Test
Kaylee had her writing TAKS Test yesterday. She is as confident as can be. She was one of the first ones done and it was easy!!!
Oh My Goodness! That can not be a good sign.
Before I dropped her off at school I told her to be sure and concentrate and check her spelling and punctuation and to make sure she did her best hand writing. She told me she did all of that but still......I am as nervous as can be! She has some of the sloppiest hand writing I have ever seen and she is a horrible speller! I know that most of that is because of her dyslexia but there has to be some point where that is not an excuse anymore right! I'm just not sure when that will be but someday soon I am sure.
I'm not sure when we are going to be getting the results back. I think it will take at the very least a month, maybe longer! I will let you know how it all goes as soon as I know something.

Ash Wednesday
Today is the first day of lent.....I can't believe another season of Lent is here again.
The kids and I went to the service tonight and it was really nice, Father Bob is so great! I love listening to him. Surprisingly Aaron didn't wipe off the ashes like he did last year.....I joke that he had to hurry up and wipe them off last year because they were burning him.....(you know the part Devil thing) hopefully that is not the case! This year he was good and left them alone.
Kaylee was naturally as good as can be, no complaints in her department from me!

weekend wrap up
Were do I even begin with this very long and very eventful weekend? First of all Friday night Matt and I went and got Kaylee her last birthday present. She wanted a pair of earrings that she could wear all the time. We bought her a pair of gold butterfly earrings. The diamonds aren't real but it certainly is pretty.
Saturday Kaylee and I were up at Wal-mart for a while selling cookies. Kaylee is so good. She got right out there and asked people if they would like to buy some cookies. She wasn't scared one bit to do it.....I on the other hand am still scared to do that!
After we got home we cleaned up the house a little bit and then Matt and I started to get ready for his banquet. We both wore suits this year. I believe that we both looked pretty good. Kaylee told me we did anyway. Kris came and picked the kids up and then Matt and I were on our way. It was at the Sheraton Hotel over by the airport......these towns all run together and I never know which one I am in but at some point we went through Irving so I will say that was the town we were in.....very confusing roads, I was so happy I was not driving. Pretty impressive hotel. We checked in and then headed up to the room......Matt didn't know what we were eating (one of the first things that I ask about) so I knew that I had better fill up on the cheese and crackers that they were going to be serving for appetizers. (in case I didn't tell you last year the food was horrible and I didn't want to starve again so I knew I had better fill up on this stuff) Oh big surprise......they weren't serving the cheese and crackers like last year it was all gross stuff like egg rolls and wontons.....I'm sure there was some yucky chickens wings in there somewhere too.....needless to say I didn't get to fill up on the appetizers like I was hoping. There was tons of people that showed up for this thing and the alcohol was flowing! I'm not that big of drinker but I had a few vodka/cranberries and they went down really well! Finally it was time to go into the banquet hall. Lots of tables to choose from so Matt and I sat with his co-worker Gary and his girlfriend Kathy (whom I liked a lot!) and his other co-worker Aaron with his wife Erica. There was a few more people at the table also but they do other things at the company Art and his wife Melissa (not sure what he does) and Austin and his date (not sure what he does either) needless to say we had a pretty good table with a lot of talkers which is a good thing because you guys know I don't like people very much....I never know what to say to them! (It was so different compared to last year.....last year was BORING!!!!! I didn't even want to go this year because last year was so horrible!.....hence another reason why I started drinking early, I knew I had to get through the night! I was already planning the after dinner headache so I could go back up to the room and watch TV......horrible I know but its the truth!) They started with a salad and then moved onto the main course.....Mashed potatoes with some sort of steak with a chicken breast with green beans and squash all touching each other!!!! All I had to do was look at Matt and he knew what I was thinking....YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!! I did eat the potatoes and the green beans with squash but the rest no way! So I had a few more vodka/cranberries (I did tell you they were going down really easy right?)
After they were done presenting all the awards it was time for dancing and more drinking. Kathy, Melissa and I had an awesome time talking with each other while the men went there ways. I think it was about 1:00 when we all went our separate ways. Matt and I went to the bar with Tammy and Aubrey (bubba) he talked to people while I sat over with Tammy and talked to her......now comes the fun part.....we headed back up to our room. We both fell asleep rather easy but at 5:00 I woke up to an uneasy feeling of yuckiness, off to the bathroom I ran. After I was done I went back to bed.....30 minutes later the same thing happened.....then off to bed again.....30 minutes later same thing happened AGAIN!!!! I am sure you can see the pattern here. This went on for hours! Finally Matt and I climbed out of bed at 9:30 to get ready to leave for home. I was so miserable that I couldn't even go to Thinking Day with Kaylee! Thank goodness Kaylee has the best aunt in the world and she took her to it and asked Karen to bring her home. There is no way I could have handled a million little girls running around and being loud! I would have died right there. I am still not feeling very good. Still have that uneasy feeling going on although I have been able to keep things down. I even think I ran a temp for awhile......It could have been some sort of hot flash but aren't I to young for them? Anyway still feeling bad today.....I think maybe it is part flu but Eileen told me once you get past 30 the hangovers last longer!!!! Can you believe that! What a bunch of crap good thing I am only 27......I do remember why I'm not big of drinker now........I can't handle the after effects!

this is cutting into my TV time.........
I have not been able to sleep for years. When I was pregnant with Aaron, that is when all of my sleep problems began. It takes forever for me to fall asleep and then once I am asleep I wake up at the least 4 times in the night to use the restroom, or let the dogs out, or to just stare at the ceiling (one of my most favorite pastimes) and lets not forget my self diagnosed restless foot syndrome that doesn't act up every night but it creeps up on me at least weekly. For the past few years I have come to enjoy my night time TV. Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, Girlfriends and then I would read for a while and eventually I would fall asleep. Since we bought the DVR I have been even happier because now I don't miss any of my favorite shows. Raymond and Friends have been put on the back burner and now I watch the shows that come on at 7 and 8 at 10 and 11! It has been great! From watching The Office (the best show on TV) to watching Desperate Housewives to Greys Anatomy to Ugly Betty. I have been in Heaven with this new machine! LOVE IT!!!!! Well the people up at work have all started this new diet and a bunch of people have lost a lot of weight! Very noticeable. One of things that you do is drink watered down orange juice. It will curb your sugar cravings and it also regulates your blood sugar. After hearing that it helps to regulate your blood sugar I thought that maybe I should give this a try. I am not doing it for the diet purpose......I am happy with the way that I am and I don't think I really need to lose any weight. Maybe 5 pounds would be good but not enough for me to even be concerned about.....so anyway I thought I might drinking this stuff just to see. I have been doing it for 2 weeks and I can really tell a difference! And I have really been sleeping at night......to the point of I am completely missing all of my shows. Tuesday night I turned on Boston Legal at 9:45 and I was asleep before it was over! I had to double up on my shows for last night!
I guess I really shouldn't complain about this.....it is good that I have actually been able sleep this past week and I would much rather have this then the staying up all night and not being able to function the next day....I guess I am going to have to figure out another time to watch my TV shows!

Headaches again
Once again I have been having headaches. Not sure if it is do to stress or if I am getting sick again.
No tubes today
Today was the much anticipated doctor visit for Aaron. Again it was bittersweet. Doc said no tubes but he does want him back on Singular and now he has added nasonex to it. He does have some hearing loss in his left ear but he is hoping that it will heal itself and he wants to see him again in a month. I'm glad that he doesn't have to have tubes again and I'm ok with him getting back on singular but he just was taken off of it a couple months ago because he's not allergic to anything! Does that make any sense at all?!?!?! I just don't get it. Are we ever going to be done with this mess?

Valentines Day
Happy Valentines day everyone.....a little early but by the time you read this it might be tomorrow.
Tonight the kids and I made their valentines. I wasn't really feeling up to it because I had a pounding headache all day and it left me feeling drained but when you put things off until the last minute you have no choice on if you want or don't want to do them you just have to do them. They had fun doing it and once I got into the groove of it all it was fun for me also.
No big plans for Matt and I. I have to work tomorrow and he has to work tomorrow night so we won't be doing anything. That really doesn't bother me. Those of you that know me know that I don't play into all of the hoopla that comes with days like tomorrow.....I don't like to have flowers sent because they die, I do love chocolate but a plain snickers is fine by me or a Hershey bar, or a Peanut Butter Cup (YUM) ok time to stop talking about chocolate. I guess what I am saying is that I am not a very romantic type person. So to have a day of romance approach and for me and my husband to be busy is ok with me!
On that note I hope you all have a fantastic Valentines Day with your loved ones and if they aren't like me (which most people aren't) I hope you enjoy it immensely!

I'm feeling much better today
I guess after a long restful sleep I am feeling better about yesterday. I still can't believe that it happened but on the other side I am proud of myself for actually having a backbone to say something. Any other time I would have asked Matt to say something and then just left it alone because that is the type of person that I am.......I don't like to draw attention to myself at all. Very much afraid of confrontation.......
That is twice in the past month that something like this has happened to me.......maybe I am finally starting to realize that it is ok to say something if there is something wrong or maybe I am just starting to become a "not so nice" person.
I prefer the first one!!!!

the babysitters club
When I was a little girl I discovered these books. They are my all time favorite childhood books! I don't have the complete series because they continued being wrote even though I stopped reading them but I do have about 30 books of the series. When I was done with them and my wonder niece Dani was old enough I gave them all to her well when she graduated High School she gave them all back to me for Kaylee. I have had them sitting on Kaylees shelf for a couple years now (is it 3 years Dani?) and now Kaylee has begun to read them! She is LOVING the first book!!!! When I read it I couldn't put it down......she isn't quite like that but she is really enjoying it! Yea we are making progress with this child!!!!! She is starting to enjoy leisure Reading!
The birthday party.........
This is a crazy weekend for us. Last night we were back to Girl Scouts (getting ready for Thinking Day....we are doing Japan, should be fun) We were there forever last night finishing things up. Came home and I went to bed because Matt and I had to wake up bright and early to go to Wylie to pick up cookies for the Troop. 3 hours later we head back home. I am exhausted now but no time to rest because we have to clean up the house a little bit and then head over to Bowl-a-roma for Aarons fun-filled birthday party! Lots of people coming....it should be a blast and Aaron has been looking so forward to it. It is going to be great! We get there and the first people we see are Christy, Dylan, and Luke, they all played a few games before we headed over to the lanes. gradually everyone gets there......Uncle Dan and Robin, Lane (from his class) Yash and Navya, Trent, Glen, Cody, and Trey, Jillian.....am I forgetting anyone? I hope not and I apologize if I did, they all get their shoes and they started to bowl. It was pretty crazy but what can be expected right. Our Hostess was sort of a disappointment because she isn't someone who appears to take charge but the kids are all having fun and that is what I wanted. Time for the bowling to end and now we go into the Party Room. We waited around for quite a while and she finally got to passing out the pizza and drinks but still this was fine. So she is a little slow....no big deal right! Hopefully this is just a temporary job. Next comes the the cake (very slow) and then she tells us she is going to go and get striker the dog to have everyones pictures taken with him.....after about 20 minutes she finally comes back with him and asks me were I want there picture taken. I said in the bowling ally....that makes sense right, have it as the backdrop.....not sure if she didn't hear me or if she didn't care because all they did was stand in the hallway and take the picture.....whatever though, no big deal. She disappeared again so Matt got all of the presents out and Aaron opened them. She appears again and tells me she is going to go and get the bill and I remind her that we still need the game cards. She will bring them back with her when she finishes the bill.....5 minutes later she comes back and tells me that the party that I ordered doesn't come with the game cards....I tell her that it did and that they must have the wrong party wrote down. She tells me she will go back and check again...she is gone for what seems like forever to me, we have the kids running everywhere because they are bored and I am not quite sure what to do.....I finally leave the room to go to the counter. While I am telling the cashier about what is happening the lovely hostess reappears and tells me again that I am wrong with the party that I ordered, it doesn't come with game cards (but now that I think about it she has game cards in her hands) "I asked why was she arguing with me about this, how hard is it to upgrade the party. We have kids running everywhere give them their cards." She handed me the cards and the bill and I gave it to the cashier to ring up and I gave the cards to someone to pass them out. I was FUMING!!!!! Not only about her arguing with me about the party but just the entire thing! How slow she was, how she didn't take charge with the party....EVERYTHING!!!!! The cashier rung it all up and gave me the receipt to sign.....normally I have a very sloppy signature but this one was really bad because I was shaking because I was so mad! I ended up speaking to the manager about her.....how slow she was and that when I am spending that much on a birthday party I don't expect to be the one who takes charge........and then I told him about her arguing with me about the party. He apologized up and down and now we are going to have Kaylees birthday party there for free......Kaylee wanted to go roller skating but I told her that we were going to do this because we are getting it for free....gives her more presents to get....she liked that so she said ok. The manger told me that he is going to make sure we have the best hostess and we will not be disappointed this time......we shall see!
I think all of the kids had a blast, they seemed to anyway. We were all so glad that everyone came.......I will be posting lots of pictures soon!

Reconciliation
Thursday night we had to go to the church for practice. Sunday Kaylee is participating in the Mass and the entire class had to be there to practice what they are to do. Afterwards was Reconciliation but it wasn't mandatory......I told Kaylee that it was for her.
Aaron and I left Kay and Amelia there so we could run up to Wal-mart and pick up a few things (actually we went for 1 thing and came home with about 10 other things.....didn't even get the 1 thing I went there for) I told Kaylee that if we weren't there by the time they finished to call me on my cell phone. Aaron and I finished up and were headed back t the church. When we were about 2 blocks away Kaylee called me and said they were done. Aaron and I hurried up and got there and went inside to get them. They were in the foyer looking around at things.....thankfully I turned my head and saw that there was still a pretty big line for Reconciliation which made my wheels start turning. I asked if they were ready and they both said "yep" then I said "did you guys go to Reconciliation?" Amelia put head down and Kaylee said "no" All I did was point and Kaylee went and got into line. I had Amelia call her mom to see if she had to do it. I knew that she did but I didn't want to be the one to tell her so. After she hung up she started to cry and said she didn't know what to say....she had forgotten. I tried convincing her that it would be ok, Father wasn't not going to be upset with her if he had to help her. She ended up calming down and doing just fine with it. I do know exactly how she felt.......I always get huge knots in my stomach and I get hot and I hate it! I always have felt better after doing it but it takes me a long time to work myself up to doing it (and yes it has been a while since my last confession)
Kaylee told me after she did her penance that she did a face to face confession again! I am so proud of this child! I doubt if I will ever do a face to face confession! Having Father look at me while I confess to my sins........NO WAY!!!! Not happening! Kaylee is a much better person then me!

Happy Birthday Aaron
Aaron turned 6 on Tuesday. I already told you that I went had lunch with him and we had a great time! We gave the kids their birthday present later that night.......what a surprise its the Nintendo wii. They were both very excited! Aunt Skris, Papa Bernie, and cousin Sarah gave them 2 new games to go along with it.....they are having a blast with it.
I already hate it because they are playing it so much but I am putting limits on it and I do know that because it is so new that is all they want to do!

Ears exploding
What a mess! I told you all about last week with us being in the ER all night with Aaron a few posts ago well this is a continuation of that........last Saturday (after the waterslide fun) we went to bed. Matt was out playing poker with a friend (at he brought home some money because he came in second.....very nice) About 1:00 AM Aaron woke me up crying. His ear was really bothering him. It was a very pitiful cry and I felt really bad for him. I gave him some meds to help the pain and then I rubbed his ear lobes to try and make him feel better. We all fell back to sleep........Sunday morning I woke up nice and early. After I showered I went to get the kids up so they would get ready for church. Aarons ear was a mess! It had ruptured at some point during the night (hence the pain) Still no fever but now I wasn't going to have him go to church.....he needed to be in bed. I called our doctors office to get the oncall doctor to call me. He told me what I knew (ruptured ear drum) but said there was really no need to go to the ER, it could wait until the morning unless there was pain which there wasn't so decided to wait. Later that afternoon his other eardrum ruptured so now we have goop oozing out of both ears......pretty nasty!
The next day Matt took Aaron to see our doctor........2 extreme ear infections. She said they were purple and purple is bad (didn't know that but now I do) and a really bad sinus infection but we would have never known because it wasn't draining out of his nose it was going back to his ears and staying there (causing the ear infections). He was put on a strong 10 day antibiotic and ear drops and congestion meds and a nose spray. (And Matt made sure to have the doctor put in his file that Z-Packs don't work for him.....not sure if they aren't strong enough or if he has had them to many times and his body is immune to them now....no idea which one!......I say this because when the ER doctor prescribed it I thought to myself......."is that the one that doesn't work for him?" but I couldn't really remember because it had been about a year since his last ear infection) and he has to have a follow-up with his ENT (who discharged him in October) to check his hearing and see if he will need tubes again. I am hoping he isn't going to have to have them again but I do not what this to happen again! He goes on Thursday to see Dr. Young so I will keep you posted.

Swimming
Our neighbor invited us to go over to Lancaster to go swimming with them last Saturday. There was about 10 of us altogether that went. What a blast we had. Indoor pool with a coll waterslide and a nice kiddie area. I will have lots of pictures to post a little bit later on for you to see.
Not very happy
Matt decided to go and buy the new windows for our computer. Sometimes ignorance is very blissful because I was much better off not knowing what was going on then when I found out! Ok so he went and bought and then attempted to download it but it didn't work. He took it up to Circuit City to have them see what was wrong (that is why we have been without a computer for this entire week.......I have been going crazy!) He went to pick it up last night. They can't put it on our computer because it is to old (thats the way they sucker you in to buy a new one) and they won't return the software because there is the possibility that we copied it onto another disk. Now I can see their point as to why they won't take software back after it was opened but come on.......they couldn't even get it on our computer. One would hope for store credit but nope we get nothing! Matt called me while Kay and I were at Girl Scouts to let me know and then he said (here is the ignorance is blissful part) we are OUT $200.00 because of this! The software cost $200.00!!!!!! And there is nothing we can do about it. We can't use the software unless we get a new computer which is not in our budget right now and we can't return it so we are just out of luck! I said "what?!?!?!?! It cost how much?" So he told me again. Instant madness flooded over me. I thought maybe it was $30.00......had no idea that it cost that much and why in the world would he think it was ok to go and spend $200.00 without consulting me first!
I'm still not very happy about this situation but I have dropped it.......although there is still a pit going on in my stomach.

I am hoping to have it back soon
Matt has been sick with (I believe) the flu the past couple days so he hasn't been able to go and get the computer.....you ask why don't I go and get it? Because I don't want to! They would start talking all of their mumbo jumbo that I don't understand and they would talk me into owing them money and I don't want that so it is better that Matt take care of it all right!!!
I have so much to tell you......Kaylee and Amelia attending Reconciliation last night, shopping with Aaron, the Nintendo wii, how proud Kaylee makes me,.........there is just so much! I hope I can remember it all (one reason why I put it on here so I can remember it)

Whats up with this?
A small earthquake shook the ground near Wall early Wednesday morning. The United States Geological Survey says a quake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale originated 17 miles west of Wall.
It happened at 3:35 a.m.
South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Geology Professor Doctor Alvis Lisenbee says a quake that size will do little, if any, damage.
He says despite what some people might believe earthquakes are actually fairly common in South Dakota. Lisenbee says they occur about once every two to three years, particularly in the southern half of the state.
About 11 earthquakes have hit the Black Hills area in the past 100 years.

lunch
I had lunch with Aaron today for his birthday........the poor kids ears are still oozing goop and he is as white as snow. I know that is hard to imagine because both kids are like me in that they stay white all year long but he was extra white!
