I had Aaron parent/teacher conference a few weeks ago and it went surprisingly well for the little rug rat. Aaron absolutely adores his teacher, you can see it when he talks about her, well I think his teacher might feel the same way about him. It lasted about an hour......I know, I know, normally that would be a bad sign but it really wasn't. First she went over all of his "testing" and explained it all to me. He is reading on an almost 3rd grade level (I didn't know what to say to that......I never got that for Kaylee because of her dyslexia she was and is always a little behind in her reading) He is doing fantastic in math and she loves having him around. She did say that he does tend to talk quite a bit but he is normally talking about what she is talking about so how can she punish him for that......I thought to myself "boy does he have you wrapped around his finger" That is how the entire conference went. Really very good. I was pleased.
Matt and I had Kaylees conference on Thursday. We walked in and put our name on the list and waited. There was only a few people ahead of us so it really didn't take long, then we were called in. She gave us her report card, All A's and B's and told us that Kaylee is such a good girl, she can tell that she loves school and she is a delight to have her. Do you have any questions? That was it....nothing else. Maybe 5 minutes. At least it was all good, no complaints on her thank goodness. I certainly hope she keeps it up.

Holman Pottery

Last weekend all of us GS girls went to make some pottery. We learned a little bit about how pottery came to be, how old it, and how we use it this day and age. The girls all had a blast. they got to make 2 bowls on the wheel this time (in case you forgot we went last year also) and they also got to make a wall sconce. We don't have them back yet because they have to be fired and glazed (or vice versa) but then we can bring them home to display.

I can stop planning Jacks obituary now
I didn't sleep very good last night (nothing new but last night I happen to know what my problem was) Matt found a lump on Jacks leg and he pointed it out to me last night. I have been upset ever since. Last night I was planning on all of us having family pictures taken with my baby and I was writing it all out in my head what I was going to tell people when they seen me with red swollen eyes and a sniffling nose. I just knew that something was wrong with my boy and I was expecting the worse.
This morning I made him a vet appointment to get it checked out. Bernie went with me because Jack does not like the vet and I knew that I was going to have problems getting him in the door. Last time I took him I had to actually carry him in because he refused to walk into the building (you've seen pictures.....you know he is not a small dog) Before I go any further with this let me just tell you that he weighs 71 lbs now......good grief! The doctor finally came in to see him and he has put my worst fears to rest....it is a cyst. Thank goodness! I felt the relief wash over me. He said it is not in a good spot because of how his leg bends but that unless it starts to bother him or to ooze yucky stuff we aren't going to do anything about it. (surprise surprise....he didn't want me to schedule a surgery right then) He did give him a cortisone shot to ease the itching on his feet (they are just barely hanging onto his legs because of his allergies) and he said that should do the trick with them. The hair should start to grow back after it takes effect tomorrow and he will be even more hungry and thirsty for a few days because of the shot.
Thank goodness my puppy is going to live! I do think we are going to take some family pictures with him.....at least one good thing came out of my panic attack!
