Soccer Awards

I didn't get a chance last night to tell you about soccer awards. They were so good! We met at the church and the coaches take the kids so they can be introduced when entering the big sanctuary. We were sitting down waiting....they introduce the Hawks and here comes Aaron and his team running into the room. Then we wait and wait and wait and wait some more. They finally called The Sting and here comes Kaylee and her team. She is riding on the back of another teammate. (a few other girls were also) very cute but I thought for sure they were going to fall coming down those stairs (thankfully nothing happened) Then the show started, they first showed a short film of all the teams playing their games and then the real entertainment began. They had a magician! It was so much fun. I have actually never seen a real magic act so this was a nice treat. The end of it he locked his assistant into a box with locks all over it, he had a father and a son inspect the locks to make sure they were locked and then the music started, he stood on top and pulled this purple blanket/bag over him and 1 second later he pulled it down but it was his assistant! Very cool (yes he was in the box) Then it was all over and the kids got their trophies and we came home and talked all about it. Very fun season that ended with a bang!

The Enchanted Pumpkin Patch

Aaron was in his first play for the year on Friday. The Enchanted Pumpkin Patch. It was so adorable and it looked like he had a fantastic time!
He had me take a couple of snapshots of his friends while we were there also, aren't they all just so cute!

Here is his first lost tooth

Tooth Fairy will be at my house tonight

Aaron finally lost his first tooth! Yeah for Aaron! It is a bottom front tooth. He said he had been wiggling it and then he felt something on his tongue so he reached in his mouth and it was his tooth. He went to the nurse so she put it in a cute little tooth necklace and he brought it home that way.
I will take some pictures and post them tomorrow (hopefully)

mommy and me yoga

Kaylee and I attended a mommy and me yoga class this evening. It was really good. The instructor taught us a bunch of techniques on how to breathe and a bunch of posses. She was talking to us about stress and how when you feel yourself getting stressed how you can breathe and make it all feel better. We both had a great time.
On the way home tonight Kaylee was telling me that she gets really stressed out and that yoga is really going to help her. I asked her how she gets stressed out and she told me that today she found out that she wasn't invited to Candice's birthday party and that it really hurt her feelings and stressed her out. This broke my heart! How could this little girl not invite my angel to her party? What a brat she must be. I didn't mention any of that to Kaylee but I did tell her that I was sure she could only invite a certain number of kids so some kids were going to be left out. She told me that Morgan and Kenzie also weren't invited (which made me feel better....at least it wasn't just my daughter that didn't get invited) Then I told her that there is always going to be some parties that she isn't invited to and some that she is. That whats important is that she is nice to everyone and she will always know who her best friends are.
I hate that these little games are already starting. it is tough raising a girl......I wonder how it is going to be when Aaron gets older.

A few more crocodile tears

Kaylee was doing her homework Wednesday when she started to cry some more crocodile tears. She told me that last week they had Honor Choir try-outs and because she was out she doesn't get to be in it. I asked her if she asked her music teacher if she had all of the students that could be in already and she said she didn't ask she just assumed she couldn't because she was out all week. I told her to go the next day and ask her if she could still try out and to explain to her that she was out all week with the chicken pox. Thursday she asked her and the music teacher told her that she could still try out. She brought home the permission slip and tried out today and made it. Yeah Kaylee!
I decided that she is never again going to tell me when she is sick. Having the chicken pox for a week and missing so much school, not being able to go anywhere was very traumatic for her. She hated being locked in the house!
I'm still waiting to see if Aaron is going to get them.....as of right now he is fine and I haven't noticed any signs or symptoms of him possibly going to be getting him. I am pretty sure he will have them over Halloween and then he will have to go through all the drama of missing everything. (Although he isn't quite like Kaylee, I am sure he would enjoy staying home, not having to do anything)

great big crocodile tears

My pour daughter, I feel so bad for her. This past week has been extremely rough for her, not being able to leave the house has left such an impact on her that I am not sure if she will ever admit to me again that she might be sick. Saturday I had to take Aaron to his soccer game and I think she thought that she might be able to come with. When I told her that she had to stay home huge sad crocodile tears started to flow from her eyes as she said to me "This is the 6th day that I haven't been able to leave the house." It was really sad!

I think she might be bale to go back to school tomorrow. We are going to try it anyhow. I have to go in with her and she has to go straight to the nurse so she can check her over. Wish us luck!

Chicken Pox

What a week! Monday morning Kaylee woke up with spots all over neck and back. Not a lot but definitely more then I could ignore. The night before when I was signing Aarons notebook there was a note that said chicken pox was going around the school. I had a big feeling that she was infected, except that we were at the pumpkin patch the day before playing in the hay so it could be bug bites. I googled chicken pox to see what the signs and symptoms were.....a fever (she had one a few days earlier) sore throat (had one a few days earlier) and a headache (again, had one a few days earlier) It said the blister look would come a day or two later. There was no blisters Monday, none Tuesday but this morning there looks like there are a few forming. She was itching like crazy this morning but other then that things seem to be fine. . I feel so bad for her. She loves going to school that not being able to to do anything is driving her crazy!

Aarons puppet show

At CCD this morning Aarons teachers asked me to come back about 10:00 because they were going to be putting on a puppet show. Can you imagine my surprise when I went back to his classroom to find that Aaron was playing God and a shepherd. What a proud mommy moment.

A huge arguement

Kaylee and I went and bought her a few clothes today. Really adorable mini skirt with leggings and a shirt to go with it. She wanted to wear it to the pumpkin patch today but without the leggings. I told her no. Which caused tremendous drama and a complete melt down from her. She was in her bedroom crying her little eyes out telling me it wasn't fair and why couldn't I just make an exception today.
We have a rule in our house, nothing to short without something to make up for it. Such as no mini skirts without leggings under them. You might think this seems a little strict but I don't feel a child should dress like and adult unless they are an adult. When she is 18 and out of my house she can dress how she wants but for now I am the boss and I am trying to teach her a little bit of dignity.
It ended with me winning the argument and her changing her clothes to go to the pumpkin patch.

This is how this was suppose to look

Part 2

We had such a good time at the pumpkin patch today. It is so pretty there.
We didn't get to spend enough time with you Bala and family but what we did was fun. Next time we will get to do more together.
Here are a few photos that I thought you might enjoy.

I didn't even think about taking my camera....whats wrong with me?

My aunt Geri and uncle Bob came for a short visit this week. They are making a huge trip across the country, starting in Minnesota to South Dakota to Missouri to Oklahoma to here to Arizona to California to Utah to South Dakota and then home.
They arrived Tuesday night and luckily Matt and the kids had the day off so I took the day off and we all spent the day together. We sat around and talked for a long time then we went downtown to the JFK memorial. We went out to eat at Luigi's (yum....and Aaron tried and liked lasagna) and then home. It was nice and relaxing. They let about 5:45 Thursday morning to head to Arizona. It was so great to see them and has been way to long since we had seen each other. Heard lots of great stories.........all this happened and I didn't take 1 photograph!
