Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you all had a blast!
Kaylee was a devil and Aaron was a fireman. We went up and down our street with our neighbors and then we went to her house for some pumpkin cake.
If I can ever get these pictures to upload you will be able to see how cute they all were! I will try again in a minute.

Cheddars
They opened a new Cheddars in Garland and because Matt works were he works we got a special invitation to go to their Grand Opening not to the public. Basically what it was for was the staff, so they can get use to serving people and make sure everything goes ok before they had their actual grand opening.
The kids went with aunt Skris and matt and I went on our way. The food was good. We started with their famous onion rings (YUM they are my favorite) and then we ordered. Matt ordered ribs and shrimp and I ordered dijon mushroom chicken. Matt said his was really good. Mine was also really good but I didn't eat a lot of it. Everything was touching everything and if you know me you know that I can't handle that. I try to get better on this and just ignore that it is all mixed together but then I almost throw-up so is it really worth it? I don't think so! The corn was next to the mashed potatoes so I ate what I could of it. The potatoes had white gravy all over them (yuck) I didn't touch that. And the dijon chicken was next to both of them so I had to eat the middle of it. Craziness I know but I have HUGE issues with it all. Matt told me that I need to order everything separated and he is absolutely right but I thought I was safe at Cheddars, I have had lunch there a few times and they do bring everything out separated but apparently at supper time they don't do that. Live and learn right!
Then for desert matt and I split an apple pie a la mode. Some of you might think this was a huge leap for me also and in a way it was but I asked for a knife and split it down the middle before we started as to make sure I didn't get any slobber (Matt informed me that he doesn't slobber but I don't care....it is all slobber in my world) I made sure only my fork touched my pie!
(I know I have extreme issues with food but if I didn't you would all think I was sick!)
Anyway other then that we had a very nice night together just the 2 of us. We were going to go to a movie also but there was nothing good on so we came home and watched a movie instead.

I am trying to upload some pictures so you can see but for some reason they won't go through! It is driving me crazy!!!!!
Pumpkin Patch
We went to the wonderful Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch Saturday. What a blast! They have the best pumpkin patch that we have ever been to. Tons and tons of pumpkins. Tons of wood cut outs of Disney characters. A hayride, a train ride and a maze made out of hay bales! And a million picture opportunities!
We went with aunt Skris and met some of our friends there. (Bala and family and Eileen and family.)
The kids had a blast running around looking at the pumpkins and jumping on the bounce house slides. It is so great when we can all get together! Lets do it again soon.

I'm back
I am back! Matt has had the computer down for days but he finally finished cleaning it all up and redoing files and a bunch of other stuff that I don't understand and got it back up and running!

Olive Garden
B and I went to Olive Garden today for lunch. (YUM!!!) I told him this was my last week for eating out. If I am going to be changing my life I am going to do this all the way! So starting next week it is lunches at the office. Had to end it all with my favorite place though right!
A real workout tonight
Tonight was my real workout. He focused on my upper body and my arms are KILLING me now!!! I have to remember to breathe (number 1) and keep my shoulders down and back. There was one machine he had me do where you are sort of rowing a boat (the only way I know how to explain it) and he said my shoulders should be back and down (unfortunately they don't go that way very easily) and that when I pull my arms back it should squeeze my back together, he put his fist where it should squeeze and told me to pull back and pinch his fist......it didn't pinch it so he said.......that is another problem that doesn't hurt now but will down the road. I thought to myself.....well thats just great! I am going to have work on that. He also told me not to do the treadmill anymore. He wants me only on the machine that he showed me the night before (sort of like standing and riding a bike) I can see how you can get totally into shape on that thing! I did it for 2 minutes tops and my legs are still hurting me (and that was yesterday)
I went onto sparkpeople.com and filled everything out. It gave me the food that I need to be eating and when and how much and so on. This is not going to be fun! I do have to remember to keep positive about this! This is a way of life not a diet!

Thanks for taking me B!

My Personal Trainer
I met with Apollo tonight. I personal trainer for 5 glorious sessions. I really wasn't looking forward to meeting him. I wasn't very nice on the phone when we set up our meeting time (ok he was defensive because he thought I was laughing about his name when what I was doing was asking him to repeat it because I wanted to write it down and I wasn't sure what he said....apparently he has a few issues with his name) A few of my co-workers have him and they really haven't had anything nice to say about him.....Sherry really didn't say anything bad but she didn't say anything good either. So anyway I was pretty nervous going into it. I got there and he took me upstairs to the little room that they take everyone into and weighed me and measured me and also measured my total fat.....I am not going to tell you what that nasty number is but I will tell you it isn't even on the chart! (how scary is that!) He asked me what my goals were and I told him the absolute truth, I am there to tone up my muscles and get into a better shape. I am not there to lose weight. I said I need to learn how to eat better and I want to learn how to use the machines correctly. He went through the 5 components of what I need to focus and I guess we will go from there....we meet again tomorrow at 5:30 for an extensive workout (YUCK!)
Over all I thought my experience was great! He did exactly what I was expecting him to do on the first session and he was very nice.....a complete jabber jaws but thats ok too because it fills in the void coming from me and not knowing what to say (not a lot going on in my upstairs.....just kidding, I just don't know how to talk to people) I will let you know more tomorrow of how the rest of it goes.

Virgo (August 23 - September 21)
This is my horoscope for today....should have read this earlier in the day and I could have saved a lot of greif! I will have to pay SPECIAL attention to the last sentence and not let that happen.
Virgo (August 23 - September 21)
Normally, dear Virgo, you tend to be your own worst critic - and today you are more likely than usual to be that way. Recent setbacks on the job might find you harboring doubts about your own capabilities. Be objective about the situation. Whatever happened was probably above and beyond your control, so it isn't fair to doubt yourself because of it. Work hard, continue to do the best you can, and don't let outside events sap your belief in yourself.

Fatal Familial Insomnia
Sure hope I don't have this!
When Can’t Sleep Kills
Lose just a single night’s sleep and you can expect a day of blurred vision, difficulty concentrating and gastrointestinal distress. In 1959, disc jockey Peter Tripp deprived himself of sleep for more than eight days as part of a publicity stunt, and he became paranoid, incoherent and believed he saw kittens and bunnies at his feet.
For the world’s handful of families with this type of insomnia, the symptoms are progressively and exponentially worse. Their continued lack of sleep leads first to panic attacks, then to hallucinations, then to full-on dementia. Eventually, they die from lack of sleep.
In the 28 families identified, a dominant gene leaves offspring with a 50 percent chance of acquiring the disease. FFI was first diagnosed by an Italian doctor in 1979, and it was nearly 20 years before scientists understood that it was caused by a mutated protein. The mutation leads to a buildup of plaque in the part of the brain that regulates sleep.

Weekend update
Where to begin, where to begin. I guess I will start at the very beginning! Friday night the kids and I went with our wonderful neighbor and her kids to ASI for open gym. Kaylee has been there a couple of other times before so she knew what to expect, Aaron on the other hand had no idea what to expect. We walked into the gym and his eyes lit up. They had so much to do there and he couldn't wait to get started! A few minutes later our friends showed up and they were off. Kaylee and Aaron had a blast and I'm pretty sure Christy and kids did too. Aaron was so excited that he got to climb on the rope and swing into the pit full of foam! After he found the rope that was all he did all night.
Aaron spent the night with Dylan after we got home, Kaylee went to my room to watch Return to Halloween High (or something like that) and Matt and I went SHOPPING!!!! Can I just tell you that my Christmas shopping is DONE!!!! (I can't stress that enough) We got the kids everything that we were going to get them except one thing that I am still looking for and I need to get a few more clothes for them. Other then that they are DONE!!!!! Yeah! I am going to do my happy dance now. I don't have to worry about that at all now.
Saturday we had a soccer game (thanks for coming aunt Skris.....you are such a wonderful aunt) Our regular coach wasn't there so the assistant was coaching the game and he did a great job but you could tell coach Kurt wasn't there! It just wasn't the same!
We did a little bit more shopping today. Went to Kohls and got some winter coats for the kids and we also got the clothes that we are going to wear for our family picture. I (unfortunately) have to take my pants back because they don't fit me (am I gaining weight?) Then we went to Target and had a blast there....still looked for that one thing that I have to get Kaylee and I might have found it but I couldn't get it then because both kids were with me so I will have to go back.
Then we had to go to Dylan's b-day party. They had it at the bowling alley......Aaron has been talking about it for weeks.....could not wait for this day to arrive and it was finally here. They both had so much fun! Kaylee won her first game of bowling and then her and the kids she bowled with played another game. I think Aaron came in 3rd. They both loved this party! The cake was adorable....it was a ball and pin, the kids all signed a real bowling pin for Dylan, and then they were given game cards so we went and played in the arcade the rest of the time. What an awesome time! Neither one wanted to leave when it was time but with a promise that we will return we got out the door.
The rest of the night was spent watching the wonderful Rachael Ray talk show....I am caught up for the week.
Sunday we over slept. I think part of it had to do with me not sleeping at all Saturday night and I somehow shut off the alarm so we missed church (sorry God...we'll make it there next week!) Then (as if I hadn't shopped enough) I went to the grocery store (all by myself I might add) I looked at a ton of stuff and just enjoyed myself. I enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to worry about 2 kids running around me and throwing things into the cart or about having to hurry up I just enjoyed it all and sucked it all in as I compared prices and looked at food that I have never thought about before. It was quite strange of me to do this but I really enjoyed it.
After I got home and got all the groceries put away it was time for me to go and get Susan. We had to go to a candle party.....I hate these things but I know how important it is to support other people and bla bla bla.....after all Kaylee sells cookies and if I snub people then they are going to do the same to me.....can't have that. Well the candle party was surprisingly fun and I want to have a show now. I don't really want to have a show because I hate doing that but I am going to have a catalog party (because I am completely busy every weekend in November) and I really want this candle thing and I refuse to spend that kind of money on! I have already warned a couple of my friends that I will be coming around (and yes they rolled their eyes) but at least they know to expect me right!
Tonight was the last night for golf lessons.....Kaylee had such a great time learning how to play and she is planning on taking the next session in the spring and she also wants to take softball lessons (we shall see) I guess I am relieved that it over because that means soccer is almost over too and I can breathe a little bit easier for a few months!

A Real Case of Creepy Crawlies?
This is just one more thing for me to worry about! YUCK!!!!!!
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have yet to recognize Morgellons as a legitimate disease, but there is no doubt for the 7,500 people nationwide who are plagued by a crawling sensation on their skin and intensely itchy lesions. The description of Morgellons is not entirely unlike scabies or lice, both of which are parasitic conditions. But the real head-scratcher is the appearance of mysterious fibers that seem to grow under the skin. Skeptics, noting that most Morgellons sufferers also experience cognitive or behavioral problems, have suggested the condition is psychological. But they’re at a loss to explain the documented finding of these strange fibers (shown here at the tip of a pen) that apparently bear no relation to cotton, wool or synthetic fibers. The Morgellons Research Foundation continues to urge the CDC to assign an investigative task force

no more home lunches
Aaron asked me to please not make his lunch anymore.....He wants to eat at school from now on. I asked him where this came from and he told me that they make pizza and have chocolate chip cookies. I did tell him that he has to eat more then cookies, he has to actually eat the hot lunch and he told me that he knows........we shall see how this goes!
homework
When I walked in the door tonight the first thing out of my mouth was "are you 2 done with your homework?" They both told me yes so I have been doing odds and ends since I walked in the door. After the dishes were done I looked at Kaylees notebook to make sure she completed everything and she had. Then I went to Aarons notebook. He was on a homerun so that is good but his homework wasn't done....if you remember yesterdays blog he didn't do any of it yesterday because he went to bed after his bath so he had a lot to complete (he brings it home on Monday and has to turn it back in on Thursday) So I made him come up to the kitchen table and I helped him finish it. After we finished the 2 pages that I found I began looking to make sure everything else was done.....I found 2 pages that were completely incorrect and they were done in PEN!!!!! I asked him who helped him with this and he told me daddy. Tears welled up in my eyes and I actually started to cry. I took the papers in to Matt and asked him what happened. Naturally he became very defensive and he told me not to talk to him that. I just left the room. I sat back down with Aaron and he asked me to please not cry (as he started to cry) he told me I could be sad but he didn't want me to cry.
Tell me what do you do with that?
Tell me what do you do with that?
My personal Trainer
He finally called. I have been signed up with this gym for close to a month now and he finally called to set up my training. I have it scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday. I am so nervous about it too! I know that I don't have the right mind set on this stuff but one of the reasons I don't is because I think I am pretty healthy. I'm not overweight by any means but I could stand to lose a few pounds. I could get a little more toned up (ok a lot more) I guess that is what I will tell him when I go and meet with him and we can go from there.

"Crocodile Hunter" daughter
Do you think this is a little to soon or do you think it is part of healing process?
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The 8-year-old daughter of "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, who was killed by a stingray, is to follow in her father's footsteps by starring in a new TV series, sparking a debate about whether the youngster is being exploited.
From early next year Bindi Irwin will star in a 26-part series on Discovery Kids network, with the working title "Bindi, the Jungle Girl."
A spokeswoman for Discovery, Annie Howell, said the wildlife documentary started several months ago as a show with Irwin and his daughter and would include scenes between the youngster and her father, the exuberant, khaki-clad Australian naturalist.
"It was something that they were really enthusiastic about," Howell told Reuters. But some critics have raised concerns that the youngster is being thrown in the spotlight too soon after her father's death.
Australian politician, Sen. Bill Heffernan, was reported in the Australian press to have told colleagues in a private meeting in Canberra that he feared the youngster would not be allowed to grow up normally.
Howell, however, defended the decision to continue with the series, saying the network was respecting the decision of Irwin's U.S.-born wife Terri.
"After his death Terri had to make a decision. Did she want Bindi to continue working? Did she want her to continue doing this show? And she really left it up to Bindi, with her guidance of course," said Howell.
"They decided this was a really healing process for her and are moving on."
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Irwin, 44, died on September 4 after a stingray's serrated barb pierced his heart while he was filming scenes for a documentary off Australia's northeast coast.
The eldest of Irwin's two children, Bindi Irwin received a standing ovation when she addressed thousands of mourners at a memorial service for her father at the family's "Crocoseum" wildlife park in the state of Queensland in Australia.
This week she appeared on Australian television saying she wanted to continue her father's legacy and get across the message that people shouldn't be afraid of animals.
After the nationwide interview with ABC, Australians were divided as they reacted on the channel's Web site. Some praised the family for the way it handled its loss while others said the girl was being exploited for money.
"(Irwin's) unfortunate death was a great tragedy for his family but was more or less inevitable. Now it seems his daughter is going to be exploited for all she is worth," a reader named Zodian wrote to ABC Australian Story Web site.
Irwin's manager, John Stainton, responded to critics who said Bindi was too young to be in the spotlight. "I think they don't understand that this little girl is very much enjoying what she's doing. She is in control," he was quoted as saying on People magazine's Web site.
It is unclear how the series will approach the subject of Irwin's death but possible scenarios include his daughter talking about her father.
"It will still be Bindi in animal adventures continuing her father's conservation message to a children's audience," said Howell. "Because it's for a young audience we have to be really careful about how we discuss death."

its only 7:25!
Not a fun night so far tonight. It has been really really bad with my little angel of a son. Let me start at the very beginning so you see the entire picture.........
Last night Aaron and Kaylee both had a very difficult time falling asleep......they were awake until I finally yelled at them to go to sleep. I don't know why though. Neither one took a nap that day. I guess they were both just not tired. This morning was a little bit more difficult but over all it went ok. They both knew they had to get up so they did.
Fast forward to today after school. Aaron called me and told me that it is Spirit night at CiCi's and he really wants to go. I told him he had soccer tonight and I didn't know if we could do that also but get your homework done and we will see. That seems to be pretty fair right. I thought so.
Before I left work I called and told Bernie to get Aaron ready for soccer because I was running late that way we could just leave when I walked into the house.......now fast forward to 6:10. I walk in the door and Aaron was ASLEEP! AUGH!!!!!! Bernie told me to just let him asleep but I didn't have time to explain to him that we don't do that. We have an obligation to a soccer team, just because you are tired doesn't mean you don't go. We go to our obligations unless we are sick! We support our team 100%. That is how quitters start, by putting obligations on the back burner........but like I said, no time to explain. I had to hurry up and get him woke up and shoes changed and shin guards on so we could head out the door. Aaron seemed to be in an ok mood when we left but something changed on the way........we walk up to the field and I told Aaron to get a ball and get out onto the field and Aaron stood there. He refused to move so I made him sit on the bench and support his team. He didn't root for them by any means but he was there dang it! They talked about Halloween at devotional time so I asked him if he wanted to get in the circle and talk about what he was going to be and he refused. The 2nd half of practice coach Kurt did something fun. A little scrimmage between the kids and the parents.....again Aaron refused. So we still sat there and supported the team. Finally practice was over and we head to the car (did I mention that he took his shin guards, shoes, and socks off and threw them. I made him pick them up and walk to the car barefooted) We get to the car and he asked me if it was time to go CiCi's....so I asked him if he finished his homework? You know that he said no so I informed him that we would not be going to CiCi's for spirit night because his homework was suppose to be done and because of the way he behaved at soccer. But he would be taking a bath when we got home and he would be going to bed. He has been crying for close to 30 minutes now because he is in bed. He took all of the sheets off and the pillows and comforter off, I guess in retaliation but it failed him.....I made him fix it all! He has called me in there to tell me he is starving and I told him he would be hungry in the morning.....I can still hear him crying. Poor kid. Do you think they ever learn? I wonder if there will be a full moon tonight! I will have to keep up with that to see if it makes a difference in his attitude.
Another blog on Rachael
I told you a couple days ago how much I am liking Rachael Ray. She is hands down, bar none my favorite talk show host! She is Awesome!!!!!
Matt made her buffalo chicken chili Sunday. It was (in the words of Rachael Ray) D-Lish!!!! I don't even like Buffalo Wings but it was good! I think I told you that he made her French Dips also and they were a little piece of Heaven so I won't get into that again.
Well Saturday after we left the Fair Matt stopped at the beer store on the way home. He needed some red wine for one of her recipes. Well I told him that one of her episodes she was talking about how good it is for you (and naturally he already knew this) so I told him I was going to drink some. I had put it my head (because my new favorite talk show host told me so) that I need to drink 1 glass full a day. Something about the antioxidents and so on....good for the heart or blood flow or something like that) so I have put it in my mind to do this. I was thinking around supper time but that hasn't worked yet. Can't seem to remember it at that time of night. Tonight (my first night) is right now. Kids are in bed and I am going to be getting ready for bed so now is perfect. It should relax me a bit so I can go straight to sleep (logic sounds good right?) After I finally got the cork out of the bottle (yes this was a task of me pulling on it and finally getting the cork screw out and using it....and yes it had already been opened once before) I poured myself about a 1/2 of glassful and came in and sat at the computer for my nice relaxing time to begin. I took a sip and my face scrunched up....YUCK! There is a reason why I don't drink this stuff.......it doesn't taste good! I am going to have to find another drink that will give me my antioxidents because I am pretty sure that I am not going to be able to drink this every day.
How do people drink it....it can't be the taste can it? Or maybe it is just a yucky wine! I don't know but this bottle has got to go.
(She is still my new favorite talk show host even though she gave me some bad advice!)

The dollar tree
The kids and I drove up to the Dollar Tree tonight. I wanted to pick up a few things and they love to go to this store because if they ask for something they normally get it because it is only $1.00! I did have to put a limit on it for the kids because they started to throw stuff in the cart. I should have put a limit on it for me also because I spent $56.00! Honestly I didn't know that was possible in a $ store!!!
bragging on my son......my new favorite pastime
Today was Aarons parent teacher conference and I must tell you that it went very well. Mrs. Peralez went on and on about how smart he is and how sweet and that he is normally very good. You can tell that she really likes Aaron. He has pulled his magic over her eyes. He is such a charmer! She told us that he is a definite leader and that we want him to be that way and that he has adjusted to kindergarten very well!
She was telling us that she had to move him to a different table because the child he was next to, they weren't a good match up. Aaron was having the child spit on his hand. After we got home Matt and I both asked him what that was about and he told us that Paul was having him do it. Now I know what she was talking about......Aaron and Paul went to the same daycare and they both got into a ton of trouble with each other! I warned Mrs. Peralez at the beginning of the year not to put them together, but she had to learn it on her own.
Anyway she sang a ton of praises about this child of mine and made me beam with pride!

Fair day
We woke to a beautiful morning yesterday, that meant we were going to be going to the fair in a couple of hours so it was time to get ready.
Let me just say that it didn't start out with bang in the beginning like we had thought it would. B called and we decided to meet at the main entrance at 2:00, at 1:45 I had to give him a call because matt wasn't home from the grocery store yet but as we were talking Matt walked in the door. Quick bathroom break and we were out the door. Next problem......we took the wrong exit and got lost. We figured it out right away so we got turned around and took the right road. The right road was packed full of cars so we had to wait our turn and when the road came up to park in the main entrance parking lot guess what the police man did to us........made us turn to go to gait 15! Thats all ok though, not a big deal. We parked the truck and started walking towards the gait (ok the buses to take us to the gait) Called B and told him to meet at Big Tex instead because we were to far away. We start walking.......the map is doing no good for us, we stopped and asked 3 people if we were going the right away. I think we finally got there at 3:15. What a beginning right! Thankfully the day got a ton better! We started out with going to marine show that I am sure was very interesting but because we lagged behind looking at the cars we didn't get a seat and couldn't see anything. So we stood there and ate our foot-long cheese hot dog, pizza, sausage on a stick, and funnel cake. It was very yummy!!! Next we went to the pig races, very funny and then the dog show. This was the best, it was all about Border Collies and how the heard animals and why and where they come from and why they have so many different colors and so on. We found out a lot about our Jacky boy. Then it was off to the rides. Each kid rode 2 rides (that was all of our tickets) and then we left our group to head to the car. We went through a couple of buildings that were selling things (there was a really cool sushi maker that Matt and I really thought about but we walked away we don't eat sushi that often), then we watched the parade. That was cool, I didn't know they had a parade at the fair. Then we went through the petting zoo......LOVED IT.....they had zebras and giraffes, and goats, and camels and cows and a ton of other animals. It was the best petting zoo that I have ever been in! We walked through the horses also and had to look at all the tractors. We rode the train back to our car (Aarons idea and he loved it) and then it was on our way home.
We had a blast even though the beginning had a few minor problems!

Rachael Ray
My sister has been telling me for a few years now how wonderful she is but I never really paid attention. I don't watch cooking shows so why would I care right.
Let be the first to stand up and tell you she is my new favorite talk show host! She is energetic and funny and smart and laughs at herself and she is loud and I love her! I have started to DVR her talk show and I watch it when I get a chance. Matt made her french dip sammies tonight and they were wonderful! I made roasted garlic and hid it so I could eat it all myself. And I did....no sharing from me!
I love her catch phrases......E.V.O.O., good gravy, delish, and the list goes on. She is awesome!
If you get a chance watch her show and I will keep you updated on things that we are cooking from her.

The Office
Have I mentioned to you lately that this is my absolute favorite show?!?!?!? Just in case I haven't and you forgot I threw it out there again for you.
Last nights episode was hysterical (of course) and the reason why I am blogging about it is because Michael (Steve Carrel) made a statement that I don't want to forget.
"There is such a thing as good grief, just ask Charlie Brown."
Genius!!!!!

Color Her Talented
She made the Honor Choir. She is an alto and starts Monday morning bright and early. I am so proud of her.
I was talking today that she didn't get any of her talent from me because I don't have any so it must all have come from her dad......well that's not quite true. She did get a lot of her talents from me......they actually come from my multi-talented father but they had to come through me to get to her.......she has defiantly inherited his musical abilities. She gets her athletic abilities from Matt.
I just can't stress enough how proud of her that I am........Way To Go Kaylee!!!

bragging lunch
Today at lunch we were talking about Kaylee (one of my favorite things to do) I was telling them that she tried out for Honor Choir but we don't know if she made it yet and Laura said that she bets she does because she is good at everything that she does. dance, golf, soccer, piano, gymnastics.....everything. That doesn't really mean that she will make the honor choir list (only 25 are chosen) but she might! I was asked if she sings good and she does but I don't know how good she is.....I am her mother of course I am going to be partial to her!
I asked her when I got home if she made it but they don't find out until tomorrow......keep your fingers crossed!
But if she doesn't make it that's ok too........a little bit of disappointment does a child good it helps them deal with bigger issues when they come up but I really do want her to make the list! I'll let you know tomorrow!

Do you know this word?
trichotillomania or TTM
I was on MSN today and they had an entire article about it. You ready for the definition.......... a disorder that causes people to pull out their hair, often slowly and methodically, most commonly from their heads, eyebrows and eyelashes.
Ok, I read the entire article because I thought I might have this disorder. I am constantly twirling my hair. Touching my eyebrows, itching my eyes (hence why I rarely wear make-up....it gets rubbed off) I might have a touch of it but over all it really isn't me......people who have this are ashamed because they do it. They have bald spots so they never go swimming or to a hair dresser because they would find out. That isn't me.....I just like twirl my hair.
Craziness!!!

the dreaded gym
Tonight was day 2 for this week at the gym.......my muscles hurt so bad! I couldn't even do the crunches because my body wouldn't move like anymore!
I only did the curve stuff (I have got to find out the real name for this equipment!) and then I rode a bike for a while.....no idea how far I went because the bike kept turning off......most people would have taken this as a clue to get a new bike. Well I am not most people.....I rode it for a little while and then I decided to go home!
Day 2 really got to me this week!

2 more for ya
Combating stress during the day requires a nondrowsy cure. When tension builds up, take a short break and focus on an activity that requires repetitive motion—such as knitting or swimming laps. "Any hobby can help keep things in perspective," Berman says, "but ones that involve repetition and rhythm are especially effective at distracting you from work."
If you're suffering from low energy, make sure you're getting enough water. "Half of the people who come to me complaining of fatigue are actually dehydrated," says Merrell; aim for six to eight glasses a day.

I need to do this.
Need Zzzs? If tomorrow's to-do list keeps you up tonight, take some advice from Suzanne Segerstrom, PhD, an associate professor of psychology at the University of Kentucky. "I discovered my secret remedy for insomnia as a stressed-out grad student: Listening to an audiobook until I fell asleep," she says.
Research confirms the effectiveness of her method; the brain works like a tape player—with one main auditory loop that processes words. "If you fill that loop with an interesting book, there's no room for your own worrisome internal narrative. Some people find sounds like running water helpful, but for those who have continuous thoughts running through their heads, it might be necessary to replace that verbal speak with other verbal speak."
Valerian root, a natural sedative available as a tincture in health food stores, can calm your nervous system at night, says Raskin. (Though study results on valerian are mixed, several trials suggest it improves shut-eye for troubled sleepers.) Add 25 to 30 drops to 1 1/2 ounces of warm water, 30 minutes before bed, and drink up. "Mix in some honey and follow it with half a glass of water to cut the strong taste," he advises. You can also find valerian in commercial teas, such as Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra Wellness blend.

"Soothe eczema and psoriasis flare-ups
Eileen and SKris, this blog is for you! I found it online. Another wonderful use for E.V.O.O.
"Soothe eczema and psoriasis flare-ups by applying olive oil directly to the irritated area," says Dannaker. "Rub in 1 teaspoon per square inch; it creates a seal so skin won't dry out." Olive oil is the basis of many moisturizers—but used alone, it lacks chemical irritants you may find in store-bought creams. For serious cases, cover oil-slathered skin with plastic wrap overnight. These rashes rarely turn into broken skin, but if they do, skip the home treatment and see a doctor right away.

Another day in my life
Everyone is back at work today. The sales meeting is over for another year so the quietness of the office is gone. It was nice having it be so quiet but it would get boring after a while so I am happy they are back.
It sounds like they all had a really good time.....well Eileen and B did anyway....they have filled us in on lots of funny stories.
I went and worked out tonight......sweat my behind off again! I walked fast/ran a mile again on the treadmill and did 3 sets of curves. By the 3rd one I thought I was going to die! But I kept pushing myself to do it and I got it done! YEAH ME! (That I will scream from the roof tops)
Matt and I are getting on each others nerves a little bit. He is irritated with me for acting like his mother and I am irritated with him for having to be his mother. Neither one of said that but that is what we both mean. I expect things a certain way (like done is a good one) and he has a different mind set. They say that you marry someone who reminds you of your dad. Did I? In a lot of ways I can see that and in some ways not. I am going to have to contemplate this for a little while and see what I come up with.
The kids are doing great. As you can see in the below blog Kaylees project is getting great reviews. They both had a blast at the dance. And Aaron still loves school (that is a huge plus) Over all they are great!
The dogs are fine too. Nothing really new with the mutts.....just that they are the best dogs in the world and I can't imagine my life without them!
I'll end on that note! its a good one.

80's Dance

80's Dance at Rochell.....what fun. It brought back so many memories. Thriller, Girls Just Want to Have fun, The Jets, and my personal favorite....The Right Stuff by none other then New Kids on the Block!!!!! (insert screaming here!)
You can see how much fun Kaylee is having here, then you can see how much fun Aaron had! (he was just the beginning, he loosened up after a little bit and actually did have some fun)

golf
As the kids and I were leaving golf tonight Kaylee told me that her instructor told her "your just like Tiger Woods!" what a compliment! It made her feel really good.
great day
Very productive day......almost everyone is gone to the sales meeting so there is hardly anyone at the office.......I got so much done that it is almost unbelievable! Tomorrow should be about the same!

the spawn of.....well not me!
We had to be at the church by 9:10 this morning for the kids to attend CCD, That is nothing new, we go every Sunday but I thought I would open with that line. After CCD we attend church and if the kids are good (or should I say Aaron) we stop and get an icee from 7-11. Aaron was HORRIBLE today! Not only was he talking loud but he hid me, he was making noise with this plastic gem that he has, and he threw the hymnal book! I could have slapped him if I was given the chance. I made him go out to the car while Matt and Kaylee stayed in Mass. I was scolding him in the car and he informed me that he doesn't like me anymore. I told him right back that I didn't like him very much now either. This started it all! He was crying and told me that I have to love him and that if I don't like him then I can't love him and he thought that I thought he was my favorite son. I told him I do love him and that he is my favorite son but I certainly do not like the way he behaved and I was not happy with him at all. He cried and cried and I just sat there and let him. After church was let out we did stop at 7-11 but he had to stay in the car as I filled up with gas and Matt and Kaylee went in to get the icees. Again he cried and told me that I was the meanest mom and that if I don't like him I should just leave. I told him it was my car and my house and that I didn't have to leave.
It was pretty ugly for a while there but after we got home and he had to think for a little bit he came up and gave me a hug and told me he was sorry and that he will do better next week!
We shall see!

A nice surprise
At soccer this morning Aaron and I get a very nice surprise. Aunt Judy and cousin Sarah came to cheer Aaron and his team on. It was great to see aunt Judy....it has been a long time. We got to catch up a little bit.
by the way.......
Thanks for all your help aunt Skris with Kaylees project. We couldn't have done it without you.
Honor Choir
Kaylee is going to try out for Honor Choir at school. She is really excited to do this and hopes she gets picked. Keep your fingers crossed that she will be one of the lucky 25 kids that gets to participate in this.
The Sfake and pumpkin

Kaylee and Aaron both had to do projects this weekend. Kaylee had to make up her own animal that lives in a real ecosystem. She decided on a half snake, half fish animal. We called it a Sfake. (It was between that and a Snish. Kaylee liked Sfake better) It lives in the artic ocean and eats shrimp and eels. It blends in with the sand to protect itself and it lives in caves. Aaron had to make his own pumpkin. We decorated it really cute and he picked the stickers himself to add.

my lost shoe
.....has been found! Somehow I missed it on my car. It slid between the seat and the door and I missed it yesterday! YEAH!
workout day number 2
Today was the second day for me to go the gym. Once again Susan and I went together but this time Kris met us there. Obviously yesterday wasn't a "tough" day for me. I think I hardly broke a sweat and I wasn't sore at all. Tonight let me tell ya......I more then broke a sweat. I started with a set of the curve machines. Did all of them. then I went to the treadmill and walked very fast (sometimes running) for .60 miles. Then I went back to the curve machines and did another set and then back to the treadmill to walk fast/run on the treadmill for the remaining .40 miles to make it a full mile. My muscles are killing me! I still feel pretty good about the entire workout thing. I'll be back next week for more intense fun.
DFW Ranks High On Impatient Cities List
FORT WORTH, Texas - North Texans like rapid oil changes, quick workouts and speed dating. Dallas and Fort Worth both rank high among the most impatient cities in America.
The study looked for places where Americans are least likely to wait for the day-to-day conveniences of modern life: Cities where people want and expect to pay for speed and convenience.
Apparently, there are many people in Dallas-Fort Worth who don't have a lot of patience, and they are proud of it.
"I think I am probably the most impatient man in Dallas and that's my claim to distinction," Brett Gilbert said.
They don't like to wait and do whatever it takes to avoid things like traffic jams and anything else deemed a time-waster.
"I have my house cleaned. I take my dogs to the vet for pet sitting," Blanche Evans said.
Even people from out of town said it's easy to see why Dallas and Fort Worth are both in the Top 10 of most impatient cities in America.
"Drivers are really impatient. As I'm driving around downtown looking for a place to park, someone is always honking at me to get going a little faster," Trisha Wheelock of Waco said.
Texas appears to be an impatient state, with Austin and Houston rounding out the state's cities that appear in the Top 10.
The rankings are based on the number of convenience services, such as overnight delivery, quick copy shops, and one-hour cleaners and photo developers.
"I think we are, I think we try to be very East Coast when really we're Midwest to Southwest, so we're trying to be something I think we're really not," Evans said.
San Antonio wasn't too far behind the Metroplex at No. 12.
The study was commissioned by eBay's express unit, which is designed for buyers who want to make purchases quickly.

The wrath of me
Ah yes, the wrath of me. It really is not a pretty thing when it comes out but unfortunately it does come out at times. If the world was perfect it would never show its ugly head but we all know that the world isn't perfect and some times mistakes are made.
Matt and the kids saw the "wrath" tonight and none of them really liked it. I had crying kids and a husband who was telling me to calm down whom I replied "now is not the time to talk to me!" This is what happened....................
When I pulled into the drive way I started to look for my shoe (see the blog below if you don't know what I am talking about) Matt came out and asked me if I knew were the kids were. I replied (yes it was snotty) "no, were are the kids?" He informed me that they were outside riding their bikes and they were just suppose to stay in front of the house but they didn't..........I am positive that the all of the blood raced to my face because my anger level might have been the highest it has ever been! He got in his truck to go around the block and I started off on my feet. I saw Aaron start to turn the corner on his bike (with no helmet) and he was coming at me. As soon as he was close enough I told him to "get his behind home and where is your helmet?" He said "daddy said it was ok and I can't find my helmet." To which I replied that he knows he is not allowed out front without and adult and if he can't find his helmet he doesn't ride his bike." So he went home.....then Kaylee started to turn the corner and I said the same thing to her (and she also had no helmet on) I started yelling at them as soon as we got in the house that they both know the rules....no out front playing without and adult....bar none! There is no excuses. They are 5 and 9 and anything could happen! I told them to get into the shower because they were headed to bed. Of course they aren't in bed because Aaron had to finish his homework and Kaylee had to practice piano and then they both had to eat supper (even though I told them tough......I ended up easing up on that and letting them eat and they are eating as slow as they can to prolong there awake time) Matt did tell me that it is over and that I needed to calm down to which I replied "do not speak to me right now!" (again it was quite snotty) He made some snide remark (can't remember what it was) and I told him that "this is not South Dakota 1982, they are not allowed outside without an adult! I thought we were on the same page with this rule!" He didn't say anything after that." He finished making supper and now he is in the shower.
I swear to you that I never been this disappointed with him or the kids before. For him for actually letting them do this and for the kids for knowing this rule and doing it anyway. It makes you realize that they really are going to push the envelope as far as they can. If someone says it is ok then it is ok. It doesn't matter that their mother has never let them do that before. You try your best to reinforce stranger danger and don't touch guns and drugs are bad and don't drink you have alcoholism running in your blood and you're to young to have a boyfriend/girlfriend......but over all the decision is up to them. You can talk and scream until you are blue in the face but ultimately they have the final decision. Is there anyway you can change this? I guess having the parents on the same page would be one way, to live by example. But what else do you do?

Workout day has come and gone
I went to 24 Hour Fitness after work today to check out the gym. I was just going to take a tour but Susan informed me that we were going to at least walk on the treadmill so I obliged. We got there and changed our clothes. I should have hid my purse in the car because the lockers don't have locks on them....you have to bring your own lock and I didn't know that. Tomorrow I will know to leave it there, hidden under a coat or something like that. We went upstairs and started to walk on the treadmill. We both walked a mile and then it was off to the machines that are like Curves. We really didn't know what we were doing so we were lucky Christi was there to show us how. We worked out about an hour and then it was time to head home. The only thing that I didn't like about this experience was I lost one of my shoes! Didn't notice until I was already home. I guess it will be long gone by tomorrow afternoon.

Crazy meeting day
We had a fun committee meeting this afternoon. I knew it was coming because of the email that the "big guy" sent out last week. No more junk food only "healthy food" in the office from now on. It put a damper on our plans for this Fridays snacks for CSR Appreciation week so we had to discuss what we were going to change the menu to.
Talk about walking into a boxing ring! There were 2 people who had their gloves on and were ready to go! They went on and on about how unfair it is to do this to the company and that no one was going to tell them what they could and couldn't eat. I must say I do agree with them on that part. I am not a healthy food eater. I totally prefer the junkier food that is out there. I can and will eat veggies but I prefer chocolate over everything!
I feel they are going about this all wrong though. The company just bought all of us memberships to a gym to get into better shape. They are trying to promote a healthier lifestyle for all of us and all he is saying is that when the company buys food for everyone that it must be healthy. His email was a little harsh and upset a lot of people but you would have thought they would have calmed down a little bit over the weekend when in actualality I think it festered and they are more upset now! Eileen and Heather did their best to try and calm them down but I don't think it worked. I chimed in a couple times but I sort of put my foot in my mouth. Not my intention by any means but boy did the daggers fly at me! Things would have been a lot better if I could have taken those words back. I have known this for a long time and I will type it now on a "just so you know basis".......I don't perform well under pressure!

14 years
Today is a very hard day for all of us Vlceks and extended Vlceks. I normally try to forget this day and just go about my business but it is always in the back of my mind.....from the end of September to now. Creeping up on me like a cat that is going to pounce on a mouse.
I guess walking in the house yesterday and seeing what Aaron had out was an even bigger indicator of what was coming. It sort of shocked me into reality. Telling me that tomorrow was the dreaded day (today) Another year has come and gone. (14 years to be exact)
I still wonder about him.
I wonder if he is ok.
I wonder if I will actually ever see him again.
I wonder if I can ever explain to Kaylee and Aaron how wonderful he was (do stories actually do him justice) and how horrible it was to be told you'll never see someone again.

Mean Neighbors
The house next to us is owned by some very nice people. Chris and Laura, they ended up buying another house (this time last year) because their house was getting to small for them (they have 4 kids in a 3 bedroom house) we were very sad to see them leave but they decided not to sell (or it could be lack of a buyer) and lease it out. Matt and I weren't the happiest about their decision but it wasn't our choice and they did what worked for them at that time. Well the people that they leased their house out to is a boyfriend/girlfriend and her daughter. Right from the beginning me and some of the other neighbors didn't care for them. They seem to be very different but who am I to judge.....I am sure there are people in this world who think I am different. Well after about a month the boyfriend moved out.....no idea what happened but he is gone. He comes over every other week to mow the lawn but that is all we see of him. Kaylee played with the little girl for a while but now we never see her (honestly we didn't know she was even alive until a couple weeks ago.....they are never seen) My neighbor across the street told us some gossip about the mother that made me and my other neighbor a little upset but still I judge people with my own opinion. I don't listen to others and make up my own mind about people. Sometimes I end up liking them and sometimes I don't so I was still giving her another chance. This summer (while the kids were gone) Matt and I were sitting out back and she was in her backyard screaming at her daughter. She kept threatening to get the belt and after about 10 minutes of screaming at her she did go inside and get the belt and gave her a couple of whacks.....hopefully on the bottom but because we can't see through the fence we don't know for sure. My other neighbor and I joked about them being dead in their house for a couple months because we never seen them! I have gone over a couple of times for various reason (like her leaving the soaker hose and it soaking the side of my house (at least I didn't have to do it) and now the fence is starting to fall in and matt would like to go over and nail it back together but from some reason she NEVER answers her door. I don't know if she is truly not there or if she doesn't want to answer because it is us at the door.....who knows!
Well today toped the cake and I will no longer give her the benefit of the doubt! She came over after school sometime and asked if she could use our phone. She had lost her cell phone and needed to call it to see if someone would answer (something like that) matt graciously let her use our phone. Very neighborly of him to do this for a very unfriendly person. He didn't invite her in but he took the phone to her and let her use it outside. Well my kids and her daughter were running around the yards having a great time and do you know what she said to my kids........take a guess.........she told my kids not to walk on her yard! Can you believe that! It isn't even her lawn. It is Chris and Lauras lawn! Aaron told me this on the way to soccer, he actually told me that he doesn't like sisters friends mom. I said who? So he proceeded to tell me the neighbor kids mom. I asked him why and he said, "because she's mean, she told me that I can't walk on her grass and she told sister the same thing." Can you imagine the nerve of this woman saying that. What a witch (I think you guys know that isn't the actual word that I am thinking of)
Chris and Laura told us that they aren't going to let her renew the contract. They had actually approved her boyfriend and then he moved out.....I hope they are still planning on that and getting someone new in there.....heck it could even sit vacant and I would be happy with that. Get this lady out of there!

ironic is the only word I can come up with
When I got home from work today Aaron was playing with a toy of my brothers. He has played many times with it before but it has been put away for quite some time now. I thought it was very strange to be walking in the house and seeing it on the living room floor. I wonder if he will do it again tomorrow.
Wednesday is the day
Kris, Susan and I picked Wednesday to go to 24 Hour Fitness......I'll let you know how it goes.
So sorry, it has been a busy couple of days
Well that is what I will call it anyway. To some it might not have been that busy......more like lazy but at the same time I haven't had a chance to get online to write anything.
Sister Kathy called me yesterday, I didn't talk to her until today though because I was to lazy to pick up my phone at the time she called. All is good in Iowa. We talked for quite a while and I forgot to tell her about the movie that I went and seen a couple days ago. We always talk about the movies we have seen recently and it completely slipped my mind.....could be from a groggy mind.....no sleep again last night! That is the excuse that I am sticking with today.
Sister Sher called me last night and while I was just letting the phone ring my father-in-law answered it. (Thank goodness) we talked for the longest time and then her phone went out (that is normal for her phone....it always cuts our conversations short) She did tell me that Matt and I are going to be Godparents to baby Annalesse. What an honor this will be. Both Matt and I feel completely blessed to be given this opportunity. I have already started to look for the perfect gift.....I have to hurry up and get it ordered (or go to a store and buy something) so that I will have it before Thanksgiving. I can't express enough how honored and happy and ecstatic that I am that Matt and I were asked to do this. Thanks Scott and Sher for entrusting us with this blessing
Homework took forever again tonight. She had to stop in the middle of it to go to golf and then it was back home to get to work. I am giving her the benefit of the doubt this time.......she was in the nurses office for a long time because she had her head under her desk (I think she said she picking up her pencil) and the child across from her was moving his feet and accidentally kicked her in the lip gushing blood everywhere. So she had extra homework that is normally done in class. Then after her lip was done bleeding she bumped it on the water fountain and made another gusher so it was back to the nurses office again. She said she was gone "like 2 hours" Not really sure if that was the time limit but I am sure it was a little while. Poor girl, any mouth injury always looks 10 times worse then it actually is, there is just a tiny scratch on her lip and it isn't even swollen! Good thing though because pictures are tomorrow.
