Matts new toy

Yeah! Here is the bathroom!

Here is the new camper. We are going to take it out and test it in a couple of weeks. The end April I think. I will let you know how it goes.

Bubble Time

The Easter bunny brought the kids some bubbles. They excitedly blew bubbles while Jack waited. He would run and jumped after them chomping them with his jaw.

it is appearing to be a done deal

The pop-up is sold. We no longer are the owners of a recreational vehicle (or is it trailer?) We were offered book price for it and we took it.
It won't be long though, they are drawing up the papers right now for us to sign on the dotted lines for the new camper that we are going to buy. A bathroom, a heater, an oven (you know for all that cooking that I do) and a microwave. Oh yes lets not forget the new payment! I can hardly wait.

Happy Easter

Its a couple of days late but happy Easter regardless.
We had a very nice day. The kids awoke to early with the excitement of the day. They were very excited to go hunting around the house looking for the eggs. The kids and I went to church and Matt stayed home to cook. While we were in church Aaron accidentally ripped the hymnal! Oh my goodness! That has got to be some sort of sin right there. After church was over I told him that he had to go and give the book to someone and tell them what he did. Naturally he refused so I made him walk with me so that I could do it. I ran into Barbara and I told her that it was an accident and that he did rip it. (As Aaron hid behind the door) then I gave Aaron my mommy glare and asked him "what should you say?" to which he did apologize. She told it was alright and that she would tape it or something like that. Because he refused to tell her what he did though he didn't get out Sunday Icee. Kaylee did and I did but Aaron had to sit in the car. He was very mad to say the least but I think it was a good lesson for him.
When we got home There was a bunch of eggs hidden outside! We couldn't figure out how they got here. Did we miss them when we went to church? Maybe. But we certainly didn't them. I wonder how they got there. So because of this the kids got to go on another egg hunt.
When we got back inside Matt told us that he had ran to the store while we were gone and while he was gone Jack got into the Easter candy. I tell you this is an every year habit for him. I waited for him to get sick and sure enough the throwing up started about 5 that afternoon. Then he would lay down for a while. then he had to go back outside to throw up again. It lasted all night long. the last time he had me put him out was 1:30 AM. To say that I didn't get a lot of sleep would be an understatement. The dog was miserable all night long. Poor baby. He made it through the night though and he is still with us. One of these days something horrible is going to happen to him.
I will post pictures from Easter in the next couple of days.

Sad day in my neighborhood

I was taking Aaron to cub scouts earlier and as we were driving down our street we went past about 5 police cars and one policeman was putting the yellow tape around a house. I didn't know what happened but you know whenever you see that yellow tape it is not good.
While we were at cub scouts I got a phone call from Christy who lives a couple of houses down. She asked me if we seen the police cars to which I answered yes but that we didn't know what happened. She informed me that a 3 year old little girl drown in the pool. How absolutely horrible. My heart goes out to all of these people. If you get a chance please say a prayer for this family.

Matt wants a new toy

After our camping trip this past weekend Matt has decided that he is ready to upgrade our camper. He wants a hybrid camper and he has been pulling me kicking and screaming to go and look at dealerships. We did find one that we like but I am still very apprehensive about it. I do not want another payment (and believe me this will be another payment) but on the other hand a camper with a heater would be nice. A shower is always a plus and I will never again buy a camper without a toilet.
I'm still not sure what we are going to do but I will keep you updated.

okay, maybe I overreacted a little!

Most of you that read this know me. Know me pretty well. You know all of my little "habits" (for lack of a better word) you know that when I get stuck on something that my OCD kicks into overdrive and I have to do it or buy it or read it it or whatever the case may be. You know that I really don't like for people to touch me or to touch anything and you know that I have horrific food issues.
The other day I was in the kitchen doing the dishes and Matt was cooking (another thing that you know......I don't really cook.) Looking back now I know that he was being nice and trying to help me but at the time I was freaking out. I was standing by the sink rinsing the dishes when Matt started to put dirty dishes into the sink. A plate here, a knife there. Just dishes on the counter that needed to be rinsed off and put into the dishwasher. He was being very nice, but as he was doing this I could feel my blood start to boil. I could feel myself wanting to gag as he put these dishes into the sink with the running water and I could feel the fear creeping up on me that a piece of food was going to touch me. My last straw was when he put the pan with the corn into the sink to rinse it. I pushed myself away from the sink and yelled "what are you doing?" naturally he became defensive. I can't say that I blame him. He was only trying to help me. I see that now but at the time all I could do was shutter the shivers down my spine. He was trying to dump that corn onto my hands! I just knew it! He yelled something about just being helpful and then went and sat at the table. I stood there for a moment trying to compose myself and then I started to rinse the dishes again. After a minute or so I shut the water off and said to him "after all of these years of being together do you not know me by now? Do you not realize that I do dishes a certain way and that I cannot have the food touch me!" I can only imagine what was going through his mind as I erratically freaked out right in front of him but seriously most everyone that I know does realize that I have food issues. For crying out loud I can't even have the food on my plate touch. Something I have struggled with for as long as I can remember (although I have gotten better but there are still a lot of issues there) so why did he do this? Is it because I tell him that he doesn't help me enough? Is it because I am always telling him to rinse his dishes? Was he doing it because he knew that it would drive me insane and he wanted to see what would happen if a piece of food just happened to touch me. Or was he just trying to be nice and help me with my conquest. My bet would be on the latter but still at the time I just knew he was out to get me!
Thankfully Matt understands that there are times that I happen to overreact on things and I am sure that this will just be another one of those times that he stores into his mind to make sure he never does again.

Eclipse by Shephanie Meyer

Yep, my June book is finished. I read and read and read. Ended up staying up until 5 AM. The ending was so exciting and full of action that I didn't want to put it down. (boy did I pay for yesterday with a headache from lack of sleep) Now I have to wait until August for the next one to come out.

New Moon by Stephanie Meyer

Finished my May book while we were camping.
It was pretty good. Not as good as the first one (Twilight) but still good. It honestly had me teary eyed in a couple of spots. The end was fantastic! Made me jump right into the next one. Lots of action in this one. Still loving this series and I am pretty sure that I will be at the store the day the next ones comes out in August!

Lake Texoma

Its spring break time so we left to go camping. We decided that we would try a new place (mainly because we knew that we were leaving to late to get a spot at Beavers Bend) Matt called around and found a place on Texoma. It had golf, go-carts, horse back riding, swimming, fishing, hiking trails. Everything and more that we like to do. We packed up the camper and headed out the door. We got about half way there and the tire on the camper blew out. (talk about dejavu from the last time we decided to try a "new" place) Matt tried and tried to get the lug nuts off but they just weren't budging! He scratched his arm up pretty good. He even attempted to have be hold the bar thing while he stepped on it make it turn (I'm sure you can guess how well that went!) He ended up calling is dad to have him and his sister bring out his tool box. You can imagine the fun of us sitting there and waiting for them to rescue us. Thankfully they were able to do it. They arrived about an hour or so after we called and Matt was then able to get them off and put the new tire on. So off we go again. We arrived at the campsite about midnight and as quietly as we could we set the camper up so we could all go to sleep.
The next day we got up. I must tell you that although it was pretty it was nothing compared to our beloved Beavers Bend. We went and rode the go-carts and played mini golf and started to go hiking but turned back early and then walked along the shore of Texoma. Kaylee collected some shells and her and Aaron had fun walking on the big rocks. We took a couple photos but that was all. The second night there we all froze! Normally Matt has heat radiating off of him but because he was cold I couldn't get next to him to warm myself up. It was a very long night and I am very glad it is over. We spent a lot of time by the fire and Aaron met a friend (named Popeye) who helped him make a birdhouse. Aaron also helped him shell a bunch of pecans.
Last night wasn't quite as cold but still a little cold for me and none of us showered. I would have liked to (I can only imagine the smell coming from us) the bathroom was cold and the water didn't warm up enough for me. Plus the light didn't make it into the shower. There is no way I would shower in the cold and in the dark. You never know what is lurking in those drains and corners. I would rather stay smelly.
Last night the wind was so hard that I was wondering if the camper was going to stay down correctly. Thankfully it did and we were able to pack it all up and come home today.
It was defiantly fun....not counting the cold, or the lack of hygiene, or the cold! I'm not sure if we will go back there again. I think we should stick to what we know and only go to Beavers Bend but a lot of other people have that on mind also so sometimes we have to wonder to other places to be a little disappointed and to have it remind us of how much we love Beavers Bend but we always end up having a good time.

Twilight by Stephani Meyer

Yes I finished the book last night and here is my review........
4 out of 5 stars.
I loved it! I heard Whoopi Goldberg talking about so I just had to check into it and see if I would like it. It is geared more towards teenagers but it took me back to my teenage years and I loved it all! So much so that I was running around town like a crazy woman trying to find the second book. Aunt Skris kept Aaron for me as Kaylee and I went and turned in cookie money and then the hunt began.........let me start at the beginning though. Heather was going to Sams Club so i asked her if she would look for it while she was there. She called and told me it wasn't there. After work I stopped by Wal-Mart and it wasn't there so then I went to Target and it wasn't there. So after Kaylee and I dropped cookie money off we drove to Mesquite (at night what was I thinking?) to go to the book store. They have it closed down! No more book store there. So I contemplated on going to Firewheel. Kaylee and I were on the interstate and it was 8:33 but I thought I would give it a try anyway. We drove as fast as we could without breaking the speed limit to the other side of Rowlett. We pulled up in the parking lot at 8:52 and I was having a conversation in my head that I would tell them I knew the book I wanted and then I would get out of there if they closed at 9:00. Thankfully Barnes and Nobel doesn't close until 11:00 so we had plenty of time! Found the book, bought it and then we got out of there. I paid more then I would have liked but I had to have it. I think this is where my OCD shines. There is something that I really want and I have to have NOW! I am on the 5th chapter and so far it hasn't disappointed me. I am hoping to read this one a little bit slower to maybe enjoy it to its full extent but we shall see!
By the way, that was my April book. Here goes May.

sorry for the lack of posts (again)

The only excuse I can give you is that I am so enhanced in this book that I reading that I have been reading it practically all weekend. Every spare moment that I have the book is open and I reading it. It so good and sweet and it takes me back tot he good old days (in my own way)
I am almost finished with my April book so look for a review soon on it.

UIL Competition

Yesterday was the competition for UIL. There was 12 schools competing. Sadly Kaylee didn't win a ribbon. But Kaylee being Kaylee she had a wonderful attitude about it. She said she would try again next year.

I am going to try planting bulbs this year

I am tired of having to replant every year so I have decided to do something that is perennial and will come back year after year. I planted them this after noon.
Wish me luck they come beautifully and will be low maintenance.

12 Mighty Orphans

I am proud to tell you that I did finish my February book. Even though I was sick an entire week and didn't read one time I did finish it by the 25th.
This was such an amazing book. Even though I don't know boo about football the writing in this book was wonderful. You got to know all of these characters and you felt almost like you were one of them. It was really really good.
4 out of 5 stars from me.

I have started my March book and have almost completed it. Look for a review in a week or so.

Aarons Valentines play

Aaron put on a Valentines Day play for all of the parents. I ended up having to miss it because it because it was the week that I had the flu. I felt so bad that I wasn't there. I called about 8:45 that morning to see what time the play was and the secretary told me that it was at 9:00 that morning. I thought about going but after I was told the time I knew that I didn't have enough time to get ready. I hadn't showered in days and I still had no energy. I pleaded with Matt to go even though he was up all night working. In a tired voice he told me that he would go. At the last minute I handed him the camera and he took a couple shots.

Aarons b-day pictures

I know it has been a month but I am finally getting them posted! Enjoy.

the computer has been down

Sorry about the lack of blogs but the computer has been down. I'm not even sure what has happened to me in these past couple weeks to write about..............
This past weekend was beautiful! Was outside doing some yard work. It was wonderful! The kids didn't have quite as much fun though. They got in trouble and had to pull weeds all afternoon. I am quite sure they didn't enjoy it as much as me.
Now fast forward to yesterday. It was so cold that it snowed! You just can't win in this state.
I have been pondering writing a book for a while now. It has actually been years of me thinking about it. So then I thought "what would I write about?" I could I write about my life but its really not that interesting so no one would want to read it. Then I thought maybe write a book about being a mother but I'm really not that great of a mother so no one would read it either! I have been pondering this question for a long time and I think last night it came to me. And then while I was watching October Road something happened there to make me think that I really should do this. I'm not going to tell you what I want to write about because who knows if I will change my mind in the mean time but I do think that I am going to start on an outline and see if I can figure out how to do this........wish me luck! Right now it is all up in the air but maybe some day it will actually happen!
We are still delivering cookies.....I wish some of these people would eventually come home! I do not want to get stuck having to buy all of these cookies. We have to turn in the money on Monday so I have a little bit more time but not much.
I am sure there was a ton more things that happened to me since I last blogged but I can't think of any of it right now. If it comes to me I will blog about it.
