a friends blog

A friend of mine posted a blog today on the importance of grandparents which made for a very interesting read so I thought I would share a little bit with you.
He was in a conversation today about a grandparent that watches the child(ren) all day long and when the parent wants to go out for an adult only outing but when the parent wants to take the kid to the zoo they don't want the grandparent to come along because they want it to be an immediate family outing, then he asks "is this fair?"
My opinion is no its not.....if the grandparent didn't want to be a part of the grandchilds life they would not be watching them on a daily basis. I am sure the grandparent enjoys every minute of watching them everyday but it can get very tiring also. Don't you think they would want to come along and see the child in a completely different setting?
I might be bias on this subject because my parents don't get to see my children grow up....they live 800 miles away from us so when we get together I want them to spend as much time as possible with them. That is why I send my kids with them for the summer......lets face it, my kids are getting older and eventually they aren't going to want to go up there with them so if I send them now they can get to know mom and dad and make some wonderful memories that will last forever that they can tell their children about.

the kids are on their way to Oklahoma City........NOT

I have been very excited all day.....in the best of moods and can't wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day that Matt is driving to Oklahoma City to pick up my 2 wonderful children whom I haven't seen in a month and a half.........Matt called to see where they were and he was told the bad news, Dad decided to wait until Thursday to bring them, it is to hot out and the kids begged to stay a few more days.......I am not doubting that they didn't want to stay because I am sure they aren't ready to come home and lose all of the freedom that they have had all summer long but I think it was with a little persuasion that they came to this idea.....I think my dad isn't ready to bring them home so he is putting it off for as long as possible. Just for the record, I can't wait any longer! My heart sank today when Matt told me the news.....They have to be home this weekend or I have to go and get them. (Donette, I might need a couple of days off this week....I'll let you know)

Aaron called me

When I got home from grocery shopping I noticed that I had missed a call.....Travis's cell, I pressed redial and called him back. Kaylee answered and told me it was Aaron who had called but I didn't pick up. I talked to Kaylee for about 15 minutes and then Aaron talked to me for about 2.......both told me they are headed for Oklahoma City tomorrow and Matt will pick them up on Tuesday! Yeah, they are almost home.

My hair is gone

I went and got a hair cut this morning.....my hair is gone! It hasn't been this short in........a VERY long time. I think it looks good though......maybe.

Public Affair

Jessica Simpsons new song came out recently and I had the privilege of watching the video this morning......can I just say that it is EXACTLY what I was expecting of her......flirting with the guy that was already taken and taking him away from the girl that was there with him.

Nick you can do so much better then her!

movie reviews

Watched a couple movies this weekend that I thought deserved a review......

She's the Man - very cute.....typical girl upsets the boy, boy won't talk to her then he forgives her and they live happily ever after......definite feel good movie.

Annapolis - really good....I found myself pulling for the underdog wanting him to achieve everything.

From Justin to Kelly - this one was on ABC Family and I had never seen it so I thought I would give it a try......let me just say Kelly Clarkson is LUCKY that she still has a career after this mess and Justin G. no wonder you are a nobody now!

Thats it for my movie reviews....2 pretty good one and one stinker.....take my advise and don't waste your money on the last.

Yeah Susan

Susan is having a yard sale today so I took over a few things that didn't sell at my sale that I had a couple months ago so she could try. She called me a little bit ago and told me they sold. Matt and I are going to go and paint the town red with our $13.00 tonight.

my wisdom continued

The tooth feels better today. The motrin is helping so much! I will still make an appointment to see my dentist but it doesn't seem quite as urgent as it did yesterday.

thanks mom and dad

Talked to the kids tonight and Aaron actually talked to both Matt and I. They are both still having a blast but Kaylee is ready to come home....Aaron is ready but he isn't coming until he plays putt putt golf again (I think he said Travis took him and he is expecting him to take him again)
I think it is so wonderful that my parents allow my kids to go and spend time with. They are going to remember this the rest of their lives....there fun summer of riding bikes every day and making club houses in backyards, working in the garage with papa, swinging on the porch swing eating ice cream with grandma.....it has been so fun for them! Thanks mom and dad for letting them share this with you.

scrapbook time

Kris and I went over to Denise's tonight and scrapbook......we got there at 7 and left at midnight....What a fun time! Didn't get a lot done (I blame it on the tooth) regardless though it was a fun time.

my wisdom

My wisdom tooth is breaking through and really bothering me! I called the dentist today, they are closed and the dr. Will be out of town until Tuesday. Have to call back on Monday to make an appointment for Tuesday. They told me to take 4 advil every 4 hours to try and stop the inflammation and the pain....it is sort of working. Hopefully I will make it through the weekend.

no apologizes

If you happen to take any offense to my "drive me crazy" blog then don't be mad at me. I didn't say who does this in any shape or form, it is a simple blog of generic comments that annoy me.......so if you happen to take offense to it then maybe you feel a little guilty for acting this way.

the kids

As of right now the kids will be coming home next week....I cannot wait! I have missed them so much. The house is so empty without them here, what am I going to do when they grow up and move out completely?
They have had so much fun up there....learning to ride the bike without training wheels, going on countless bike rides, getting into fights with neighborhood kids (ok maybe Kaylee didn't like that one but from mom story I got the idea that Aaron did) The freedom they have had up there is so different from what they have here. Not to say there isn't crime up there because there is crime everywhere but the smaller the city the smaller the crime rate so that makes you feel safer and you really are. They will have a rude awakening when they get back here...

watering day again

Well its Thursday again and once more everyone in the entire neighborhood is watering their lawns. I still don't know why I am doing it....my yard is DEAD. I should just continue watering my foundation and flowers and call it all good.

drive me crazy

Sorry for not leaving a blog yesterday, I wasn't really in the mood to be on the computer, sort of in a "grumpy" mood (still am).
I think it is brought on by my kids being gone or it could be something else, who knows.
Because of the mood that I am in I thought I would point out a few things that drive me crazy! Just to put them out there because you know as well as I that I would never say them outloud.

1. People who stomp their feet while they walk.
2. People who drag their feet when they walk.
3. People who always need someone else to do activities with, come on people it will not hurt you to do something alone!!
4. People who think they need 25 hours of sleep a day! Get out of the bed and do something, you will wake up and you will feel good about it!
5. People who talk disrespectful saying they are just being "honest" ......there is a difference between being honest and being rude!
6. People who do not practice what they preach.
7. People who think that there are "man" jobs and "woman" jobs, is it really going to hurt you to do the dishes? or weed eat?
8. People who say they don't have time for that (such as read, go swimming, go to college, etc.) you have to make time for things, if it is that important to you, you will find time for it.
9. People who think it is ok to talk horribly to you but once you say something back they are mad at you and won't talk to you anymore
10. People who cry at the drop of a hat.
11. People who complain about everything but never do anything about anything.
12. People who think they are better then another person because they have more money (whether it be a homeless person and a rich person or 2 rich people).
13. People who chew with their mouths open.

Sorry to bring all of this up but the mood I have been in I had to say something.
One more thing......just an FYI so that you know.......I am not a sympathetic person. Please do not come to me looking for sympathy because you are not going to find it knocking on my door. I feel everyone makes their lives the way that they want them to be. If you see the bad in everything then you are generally a negative person. If you see the good then you are generally a positive person.

neighborhood life continued.......

I went and checked on Sandy when she came home. No one swam in her pool today and there are no leaks in the pool.....I should have suggested that she get a dog, might have to go back and do that. We talked about who it could be but who really knows! Craziness is all I can. I have no idea what I would do if I came home and found someone in my pool.......not that my dogs would let that happen but they are usually inside unless we are outside so who knows.

neighborhood life

My neighbor Sandy called me last night a little freaked out. She told Matt last week that someone had been swimming in their pool when she wasn't home and wanted to know if we had the same problem. Matt told her that when we bought it we also bought lots for the gaits and suggested that she do the same. Last night though she went out back and stepped into a huge puddle of water (Locks are already in place) She said someone must have climbed her fence and swam the few hours she was gone. She is very freaked out and wants us to keep an eye on her and her house when she is home and when she isn't home. She did tell me that she has a gun hidden in her closet but if anything were to happen it would take her so long to find it that she would be murdered before she could protect herself. Poor girl....I feel bad for her. She is a single mom of 2 and if I were in that situation I would be freaked out too! (Good thing I have my 2 monstrous dogs! to help protect me when Matt is at work!) I told her we definitely would be keeping an extra eye and ear out for her. Told her to call anytime because (as you know from previous blogs) I don't sleep at night. Got of the phone with her and told Bernie about it then I called Matt to tell him. He asked me if she is positive she doesn't have a leak in her pool....said I didn't ask that question but I'm sure I should.......when she gets home later I will have to go over and check with her. Eliminate the obvious before you expect the worse right!

Rockstar

My show is on tonight....I can hardly contain myself! I am counting down the time until 8:00.

question

Have to change my settings to a "privacy" one. Not quite sure how to do it. Bala I will talk to you when you have time so you can help me figure it out.

Time flies

Today we celebrate 7 years of marriage Matthew. 7 years can you believe that! On one hand it seems like such a long time but then on the other it has flown by! I guess the saying is right.....Time flies when you are having fun!

I think I might try sleeping pills

Another VERY restless night! I am so tired of never getting sleep! What is the matter with me? Over 5 years this has been happening to me (started when I was pregnant with Aaron) Will it ever go away? Again last night it was after 2:30.....contemplated the sleep aides again but chose not to because it was to late. Last night I walked around for a while, then I laid on the floor on top of my knees....honestly it hurt but it made my feet feel better so I continued to lay that way......Then Angel started to play with my hair so I got up and let her out. As we walked outside I smelled a skunk! I looked around to make sure there wasn't one in my backyard before I proceeded out the door.

it says it is 7:37

Just seeing how far behind this clock is.......need to get this figured out somehow.

not this week but next

After we hung up with mom we called dads cell phone. He told me that they took the breathing tube out of Josh but he is still in intensive care. The kids got to see him for a few minutes and Kaylee told me that he looks like Fat Alberts friend (the one who wears the hat all the time) He is still pretty drugged up and I assume he will be that way pretty much the duration of his visit there. In a couple days they should find out if the skin took.
Talked to Kaylee for a few minutes but Aaron (my sweet angel) refused to talk to us! Dad got back on the phone and he told me "Not this week but next week I will take them to Oklahoma City" My heart sunk because my hopes were up for this week! I guess one more week isn't bad though.

"We're gonna kick some butt"

We talked to mom and dad last night. We called the house first and got mom. (dad and the kids went to Colorado) Mom told me a little story about my children that had me rolling on the ground laughing! She said Saturday night she was working around the house and waiting for the kids to come home from their bike ride. Eventually in walked JT and he went straight downstairs without saying a word...a minute later in walked Kaylee and she went straight downstairs without a word, then about 5 minutes later in walked Aaron, mom asked him "where have you been?" to which Aaron proceeded to say ""we're gonna kick some butt!" my said "what?" so he repeated "we're gonna kick some butt!" and then he went downstairs to be with Kaylee and JT. My mom was a little stunned and was wondering what was going on so she went down to investigate. To make a long story short they were around some bullys and one of them went up to Colton (neighborhood friend) and started to cause a fight, JT got in the middle and said no one is going to fight and so on. Thats about all mom got out of them so she made a lesson out of it and was telling them you need to walk away from those situations....in my opinion handled it very well. Later on while talking to Kaylee, Matt asked her about it and she said she tried to leave but Aaron wouldn't and she thought she should stay with him (what a great big sister!)
What am I going to do with this kid! You know if they would have started hitting and pushing Aaron would have got right in the middle of it and started hitting and pushing them! This child is going to be in the principles office everyday!!!!! He might even get kicked out of Kindergarten! Sweet child of mine........what do I do?

Date Night Continued

Matt and I had a good time on our date night. We went out to eat (I ordered a appltini....have you tried one of these? Really good!) Then we went to the show. "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" Uma is not one of my favorite actresses but I love Luke Wilson. It was a pretty good movie, lots of laughs.

Date Night

Matt and I celebrate 7 years of wedded bliss on Monday so we are celebrating tonight. We are planning on dinner and a movie.....we never get to do that so it will be fun.

Care to analyze my dream anyone?

I have no idea what was running through my subconscious last night but I had the strangest dream. For some reason my friend Susan's brother was in prison and got out (I'll say he finished his term or maybe he got out on good behavior) well the 3 of us were somewhere together and he was talking to us, we were all standing facing each other so I saw part of his profile.....now this was a tall man with black slicked back hair, good looking also, well as one of us were talking I saw a bunch of bugs crawling in his hair! Not little fleas or lice, I'm talking huge roach like bugs crawling all over the back of his head in his hair.....now fast forward to the next day, Susan and I are talking at work and she told me that her brother was complaining that his head was itchy so she looked at and found a tick and a bunch of big bugs.........that was my dream! Stupid I know but how weird? I don't know anything about dream analyzing but what Susan and I have put together was the other day she founds some ticks on her dogs and last night I found a spider in my closet. When I first saw it went under my dresser so it was in the back of my head but when I went to put my PJ's on later that night I found it again and smooshed it so I went to bed with a clear conscious (I thought) of bugs running around my room. (cause you know I would have never been able to sleep knowing there was a spider alive and kicking in my closet......I would have tried to put it out of my mind when I went to bed but it would have kept creeping into it.......So internet friends, analyze this dream for me and tell me what it means!

I found a desert that I can't finish........

Went to lunch with Bala, Eileen, Donette, and Susan. We went to Black Eyed Pea which isn't my favorite place to go but I can usually find something that is ok for me to eat. Great lunch time conversation....then came time for desert.....I ordered the chocolate fudge cake drizzled with caramel.......I couldn't finish it! That has never happened to me before. I love desert but this was so rich and so BIG that I couldn't eat it all. I ended up taking the remainder back to the office and finishing it later which was a wonderful afternoon treat.

Joshawa

I talked to mom and dad last night and here is the update on Joshawa........

He went in to surgery at 8:30 and it should have been a 2 hour long process

but it turned out to be longer, they finished at 2:00.

They had to put in a breathing tube because he was having a hard.

They left the tube in just to be safe. They have him in restraints because he

doesn't like the tube and they are afraid he would pull it out. He will have it until

at least Sunday. They will check the skin graphing in about 7 days to see

how it looks. They will decide from there what will be next. They are anticipating

being there about 2 weeks.

Very productive day

I was a working fool today! I got so much stuff done at work that it is almost unbelievable. I feel so good about it. I am learning Susans job and so far it is coming along really good (yeah for me) I have only come across a few minor problems and they were easy to fix.
I went school supply shopping again tonight. I am so frustrated with Wal-mart....they try so hard to keep everything together but it just ends up being a huge mess! I looked and looked and looked for Manila paper and still have yet to find it. Mapping pencils....I don't even know what these are! It was like the blind leading the blind trying to find them.....I would have asked someone but you know there were no associates to be found....I finally gave up and decided I will just go to Office Max, they will know what they are and they will be able to show me where they are.
Tonight is watering day in my neighborhood. Everyones grass looks horrible and I wonder why we even try to water.....maybe we should just let it die rather then prolong the inevitable....but no everyone in the neighborhood is watering their lawns in hopes that a really good rain will come and bring the green back to Dallas. Wish us luck if you aren't from around here!

Happy Birthday Brother

I usually don't talk about my brother but I wanted you to know that he turns 33 today.

another update

Josh goes in for skin grafts tomorrow.

much needed bonus......

Today we were given a bonus at work.....much needed at my house. I wasn't counting on it but I am very glad to have gotten it!

updated prayer request

I talked to mom and dad last night to check on Joshawa, here is what I
was told........
Tiff's car was running hot so Josh jacked it up and climbed under. Mom
and dads road is slanted and he didn't put any blocks under the tires
some how the car fell pinning the tailpipe onto his face and chest. Tiffany came
running into the house yelling call 911 the car fell on Josh. Dad and
mom got up and went outside to assess the situation and mom turned back
around and called 911. The ambulance arrived and Josh wasn't going to
go to the hospital but Travis told him that he really needed to so Josh went.
They released him but told him he had to go to
Greeley Colorado for skin graphs. The next morning his face was
extremely swollen and he was severely dehydrated so my sister took him back to
the ER and they pumped him full of IV fluids and released him again and
then Sue and Josh took off to Colorado. They are told that they will be
there at least 10 days maybe longer. I will keep you updated.

prayer request

I don't have all of the info on this yet but my mom sent me an email that my nephew Josh has third degree burns on his face. I haven't called mom and dad to get the entire scoop on it but what I do have is this......Tiffanys car was running hot so they jacked the car up and Josh slid under it to take a look, the car fell and it burned him all of his face. I don't know if that means the tailpipe burned him or if something leaked all over him but somehow he is burned. While waiting on the EMT to arrive my dad and Travis lifted the car off of him to get him out. The burn unit told him that he is going to have to have skin graphs......thats all I know. I will call later tonight to find out all the info and will let you know more later.

I forgot to tell you......

This weekend at the poker game someone told me that I look like I am 15. Isn't that great!

Happy Birthday Sister

Have a wonderful day Sher.....just think a year ago today we were all in New Mexico camping.
Be sure to email me (or call) so you can tell me all about it.

I think I am going to be sick

I got my electric bill came yesterday and it honestly made me sick to my stomach! It is $400.00.....how in the world do they expect you to live with this. The government really needs to put some regulations on these electric company's because this is getting ridiculous. They know that we can't live without electricity so they have us! It makes me so mad. I can't wait for the summer to be over so that I don't have to worry about this.

dish network came today

Matt now has Dish Network. Both TV's are on and they are both on the same channel! That makes a lot of sense don't ya think! We ordered the one that has the DVR but they brought the wrong one so we still don't have it....the only reason that I even wanted this and they forgot it! Dang it...they are suppose to come back with it.

weekend movie bust

We watched 4 movies this weekend and all but 1 were horrible!

Prime - this was only ok......I stayed somewhat interested the entire movie but will never watch it again.

Requiem for a Dream - not what I was expecting at all. Very different!

House of Wax - the only thing good in this movie is that you get to watch Paris Hilton get murdered....thats it. The acting was horrible!

The Hills have Eyes - remake...stupid!!!

Watch these at your own risk!

I lost

Poker night was pretty good. I stayed in quite a bit longer then Matt did but Bernie made it to the final table. None of us won the jackpot but we had fun!

Are the kids homesick?

Talked to mom and dad tonight....the kids weren't there they are at sister Sue's house spending the night. Both mom and dad said things are going great! Aaron is a little stubborn but hey I warned them of that! It shouldn't have come as a surprise. They both said that Aaron doesn't even talk about us! How sad is that?!?!?! My boy has wrote me off completely. Mom said that she thinks because he won't talk to us on the phone and because he doesn't mention us is his way of not missing us.....I thought to myself "well that makes sense....I'll go with that!"
After we hung up I called sister Sue's house and talked to the kids. I told Kaylee that I found her a piano teacher, she is very excited! She told us how grandma and papa took them to Storybook Island and how they have been having so much fun. Aaron waned to talk then so he got on. My sister has to haul water out to her house so Aaron told me all about doing it and how they were going to help put out the fire tomorrow....this child has the biggest imagination I have ever seen! He is going to write novels when he grows up I just know it! In another blog I will tell you all about his imaginary friend Analiese.....she has been quite the character!)That was about all Aaron had to say to Matt and I so Kaylee got back on and told me a few ore things that they have been doing and before we hung up she told me that Aaron really misses me and he is ready to come home. Did she say this for my benefit or is Aaron confiding in her and not wanting grandma and papa to know......

Jillian

I'm so glad your surgery went well. I was thinking of you all day

poker night

Matt and I are going to go and play poker tomorrow night. He has gone out to Jeff and Kristys a couple time before but this will be my first time....very nervous because I really don't have a very good poker face and they will be able to see right through me! I'll let you know later into the weekend on if I won (Yeah right) or lost.

I figured it out Bala

I had to write a new post for the picture to come up Bala! We'll have to put that into our memory banks so we can remember it in the future.
For everyone else......kind of a old picture but my kids look awesome in this photo!

I know you don't know the whole story but......

Matt and his brother finally talked. It has been almost 4 months since they had the horrible confrontation. I don't think that I should put the entire story online (Matt did tell me he didn't care what I put on here so I figure this is good) but let me just say that some very hurtful things were said. I am sure things will be weird for a while but maybe someday they will get back to the way they were 5 years ago.

I was in a car accident today (sort of)

Those of you that know me know that I am a very nervous driver. I am always watching what is going on the road and I stay back from cars for fear they will slam on their brakes and I will ram into them. Usually when I am with people I sit in the back if there are more then 2 of us going somewhere because I don't like to watch the road when others are driving....kinda makes me sick.....anyway today Eileen, Heather and I went to lunch and Sams Club to pick up some stuff for IM Appreciation tomorrow.....meatballs (YUCK) cheese and chips, veggies and so on. Well on our way back we pulled into the parking lot and Eileen drove to the back so we could have the warehouse help us load it up on a cart and take it all into the kitchen. Heather said that she would go back with Jeff and start putting stuff away, Eileen said I had to go with her because she was nervous about backing her truck down the ramp. Well she started backing up and I was looking at her CD's (she likes the good music like me....Van Halen, Monster Ballads, all that wonderful 80's music) I heard Charlie tell her to go and pull forward so she can turn around since she was so nervous about backing down the ramp, she put in into gear and started going, slowly, I was still looking at her CD's when all of a sudden we were both jolted forward and there was a big bang.....Eileen said "Oh My ......" and put her hands to her face. I looked up (the CD's were thrown from my hands) and saw this huge machine thing coming towards her fender (on my side) and then it stopped and fell backwards with a huge BOOM I looked at her with her face covered and looked around at everyone else with their jaws dropped to the ground and I started (are you ready for this.....I am sure you expect this if you have read past posts) started to laugh! Great big belly laugh! I didn't know what to do so I laughed! Eileen laughed too. Jeff told her to go ahead and back up so she did as we were jerked around a bit more. Eileen asked "What did I hit?" and Jeff informed her it was the shrink wrap machine. He checked her tire and said he thought it looked it ok but to check it after work and make sure it wasn't flat. She did get her truck turned around and we made it out of the warehouse without slamming into anything else....parked the truck and got out and looked at it, thankfully it all looked ok and I checked her tire after work and it wasn't flat. Poor Eileen, I felt so bad for her. She said she was never going to be able to walk in the warehouse again because she was so embarrassed! Poor girl....I feel for ya Eileen! Don't worry though, tomorrow something new will happen and we will all be talking about it and we will forget all about you running over and breaking the shrink wrap machine!!

My poor husband

Ok, time to feel bad for Matt in this blog....he has a staph infection! The poor guy is having a hard time walking! I know exactly what he is going through though....I have had one of those nasty things and never want one again!!!! Our dr put him on 2 different (very strong) antibiotics and antibiotic ointment so for the next 2 weeks he will be popping pills morning and night. They told him if it starts to redden around it to rush to the ER and have them take care of him (I assume it would be to lance it and put him on IV antibiotics) so that he doesn't die from blood poisoning......poor guy!

update on yesterday

I heard on the radio this morning that the person they found in the water yesterday was a woman who had been shot. They have identified her and they have found some evidence but that is all that I know so far.

say cheese

OK, I know the picture in my profile is a little cheesy but I didn't know how to put one there so Bala showed me how and that was the picture we put in until I can find one that looks better it will stay!!!!

Lets smell the roses again

I was driving my usual way home from work today. Taking my time like I always do. Enjoying the scenery so to speak after a long day at work. The road turns into 2 lanes when I first come into Rowlett and you drive across a little bridge. I am not sure what this body of water is called....I believe it is part of Lake Ray Hubbard but honestly I don't know....anyway all the cars in front of me slowed way down, crawling along and I couldn't see what was going on. As I crept a little closer I noticed a news crew on the lefthand side of the road. I watched as the lady spoke into the camera and then they started putting everything away. I crept a little closer but didn't see anything. I looked out my passenger side window and I saw it.....there was a fire truck, a police car, a bus, and a search and rescue vehicle. The search and rescue vehicle was by the water and they had 3 heros sweeping the water. I am not sure what exactly they were searching for (I have had the news on since I got home) but I can only imagine! Isn't that horrible! I hate the fact that someone drowned or almost drowned. I can't imagine what that is like! (being the one who is drowning or watching as a person/loved one drowns!) Life is so short and we all take it for granted! I hate the fact that normally something tragic has to happen for us to start smelling the roses again! Like the twin towers falling....we were all minding our own business when the terrorists had to come and wake us up out of our "nothing can ever happen to us" slumber that we were living in. We all (America) did so good for so long but we are falling back into that slumber (actually we have fallen into it). We rush to go here and there (I'm a great example of that) and we don't look at how precious life is. So to all of my wonderful internet friends lets stop what we are doing and all go outside (well maybe in a couple more hours....its still 102' outside) and just watch the birds fly and the squirrels take pears from our trees (that might be just my backyard) and watch our dogs play tug o' war and listen to our children laugh. Lets take it all back again.

just 30 minutes

I feel much better. After I got off of here the first time I went to lie down. Slept for about 30 minutes. I felt so refreshed after.
I think it is true what they say..... A power nap is better then a 2 hour nap. I always feel more tired after a long nap then after a short one.
I might have to start taking these more often!!

I need sleep

I was up last night until after 2:15....tossing and turning wanting to take a sleep aide but knowing that it was to late for that. My alarm started ringing way to early for me! But I made it through the work day without falling asleep at my desk and now that I am home I am more then ready to just go to bed! It dawned on me at lunch time what I did wrong last night to get no sleep.....I drank a coke at 8:00 PM! What was I thinking?????

when is enough enough?

When do you put down your gloves and finally say enough of this? That is the question for today? When do you have an argument and stop talking to that person and finally say....."I'll be the bigger person here and call this person" and apologize even though you know you did nothing wrong? Does that person know that they did wrong? Do they see it the way that you do or do they see something completely different and think they did no wrong? What a heavy question to ponder on a Monday afternoon.
I am a HORRIBLE apoligizer! I hold grudges terribly and I am like an elephant and never seem to forget. I will apologize if I know for a fact that it was me that was in the wrong but when I know I am right.....I know I am right! I guess that is one of my weaknesses. There have been many friendships that I have had that I don't have anymore mainly because of me....an argument happens and I am Done! (yes, with a capitol D) Like I said one of my weaknesses or flaws.....whatever you want to call it. I guess maybe it is something that I should work on to myself a better person.

yeah!!!

I talked tot he kids last night and this time Aaron actually wanted to talk to me. He had to tell me that he can ride a bike all by himself now. He started learning in San Antonio but now he can keep up with his sister. Mom and dad both agreed that he is a horrible eater.......they had thought that I was just fixing him different food when he wouldn't eat what was made but they have figured out that isn't the case....he will rather go hungry then eat something he doesn't like. (And he did) Kaylee said she is having a blast also and told me all about them pulling grandma's weeds to help her and then moving the plant stand down to by the garage. Neither one of them are ready to come home yet but I did get a "mom I miss you" from Aaron. That was nice at least I know he hasn't forgot about me! I think I said this in a blog past that I knew Kaylee would be fine but I wasn't sure about Aaron.....well he is doing fine and he has surprised us all! Thank goodness!

Pirates of the Caribbean dead mans chest

Oh my goodness! Went and seen this movie today with Sarah, Donette, Joe and their grandkids......it was wonderful! I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the 1st but it was and whats even better is that they are filming part 3 for release next summer. It was so good!! Lots of action and comedy and romance.....love, love, loved it!! 5 out of 5 stars.

Rockstar Supernova vs. American Idol

Tonight was my first night to watch Rockstar Supernova and I watched it just by chance....there was nothing else on so I left it on CBS to check out the music that they sang. Now before I get into my big debate of these 2 shows let me tell you that I love American Idol.....I was a devoted fan until they switched it to 3 days a week and I decided that I just couldn't keep up with that but I still kept up on the recaps the next day on the morning show that I listen to.....ok now that we have that clear let me tell you about Rockstar Supernova.......LOVED IT!!!!!! The music is awesome! They have already gone out and found the talented 15 people so you don't have to go through months of gag reels before the show actually starts with the competition. It jumps right into it. These 15 people were so talented and the songs that they chose to sing brought back so many memories.....Nirvana, Billy Idol, Janice Joplin, and the list goes on and on. The girl that sang Nirvana....very scary but she did awesome! The guy who sang Billy Idol also did a great job but he was hard for me to look at so I didn't like him. I know I know its suppose to be how they sing and their presence on stage and your right but you also have to be able to look at them!!! Like Marilyn Manson even if I liked his music I wouldn't be able to buy it because he is scary and I am afraid to look at him (my eyes might melt)!!!!!! Anyway this show is awesome and I can't wait to watch it again. Does it come on again tomorrow or do they do the results next week? Not sure will have to check it out!

Happy 4th of July (a day late)

I didn't get a chance to blog anything yesterday because......well because I just didn't get around to it. The first think I did when I got up was finish (yeah for me) staining the back cover over the patio. It has been a year long process but I am proud to say that it is done!!! It looks really good and I am so happy to have that off of my shoulders and not have to worry about doing it anymore. Now I can start on some other projects that I have been wanting to do. The rest of the day I read my book. About 5 PM Sarah and Kris came over and we grilled steaks and sat outside. Good conversation going on and Matt did a great job with the food. Oh and it did rain off and on all day long. That was nice, we really needed it. Sarah, Matt and I went and watched the fireworks at 9:30. I must tell you that in the past Rockwall has put on a much better show but with the weather being so yucky they did what they could. There was quite a few duds in the show. It was nice though watching them and listening to the music that they set them off to.
That was my 4th of July.....hope you had a great one also.
P.S. I hope you had a wonderful birthday Dusty!

Kaylee is going to be so happy

I finally got a hold of a piano teacher today. Kaylee will start taking piano September 6th. I can hardly wait to tell her the news.

it smells like rain (yeah right)

I raced home tonight so that I could get the lawn mowed....it is awfully cloudy and I wanted to make sure I got it done before it starts to down pour out. Needless to say I am finished and the clouds are leaving. I so wish it would rain! We need it so bad. Isn't it ironic that the east coast is flooding and we are in a drought......if only they could find a way to push those clouds our way just for a couple days.....if they want them back we could push them back up to them after we got our fill but I doubt it if they really want them back! I think they would love for us to take them off their hands.

Restless Foot Syndrome Strikes Again

I didn't sleep again last night. My darn feet were bugging me. (2 nights in a row!!!) I went to the couch (which is what I do a lot of the time) and it still didn't help! When I finally did fall asleep (which was about 1:30) I slept pretty good but I awoke with a headache and I slept wrong.....my neck has been bothering me all day!! It looks like it will be an icyhot night tonight!

the truth about diamonds part 2

Finished the book tonight and it was a very easy read! Do I recommend it, not really. The writing was very young.
Now on to my next book.......Life of Pi.......hopefully this one will be better then the last one.

Matt is jumping on it

Matt read my blog and now he is on hold with Dish Network to order us satellite. I guess part of me knew that it would happen when he read that post about me kind of wanting to get it. I still feel funny about it though. Not really sure if I want it. Out of my hands now though and in a matter of days we will have it.
