LL Cool J was on Rachael Ray

He was promoting his new book....something about working out and eating right....I didn't pay that much attention to it. Rachael Ray asked him about his marriage of 12 years (impressive for Hollywood) and his 4 children. 3 of which are girls. (I believe that was the number) His oldest is 16 so Rachael was asking if the boys are pounding on the door to get in and do you know what he said!?!?!?!?! To give you a little bit of a hint LL Cool J and I agree with each other when it comes to this......there is no dating. 16 year olds need to focus on their studies, not boys!

It is almost like he took the words right out of my mouth! He forgot the part about boys being gross (And that would be girls are gross in Aarons case) but that was it!

Cambridge Who's Who

I received a FedEx from our Houston warehouse with some invoices for me to pay and along with them was this letter from Cambridge Who's Who addressed to me (with our Houston warehouse address) I opened it up (knowing that it is junk mail) and read the first line.........

"It is my pleasure to inform you that you are being considered for inclusion into the 2007/2008 Cambridge Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women "honors Edition" of the Registry."

I laughed out loud to myself and went to throw it away. Then I thought to myself "no you need to go and brag to Linda to make her jealous" hehehe....not exactly what I thought but I did take it over to Linda and told her about it. She told me that she has been nominated twice for this register and that someone nominated me to be in it. I laughed at her again. Then she told me she wasn't kidding....someone was impressed by me (isn't everyone?) and wanted me to be in this book.

This got me to thinking.....why wouldn't someone nominate me for it. I am a great person who goes above and beyond with everything that I do. Everyone loves me! I deserve to be nominated and I should win awards too! And money.....any time someone wants to give me money I will be right there! Maybe be on the news and in the national news paper for public recognition. I totally and completely deserve this.........Go Me!!!!

Someone might need to shake me for me to wake me up and join reality again...............................................

Finally better

By yesterday afternoon Aaron was finally feeling better. About time those meds kick in for him. He has a few more days on them.....I really hope they work this time.

still not up to par

I'm not sure if Aaron will be going back to school tomorrow, he still isn't quite there. He has ran a low grade fever all day and earlier he was telling me his ear still hurt. Second dose of antibiotics tonight and he is still full of Motrin and Tylenol. I am sure tomorrow will be better but I think I will give him one more day to recoup.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Josh

Ignoring it doesn't always make it go away

Aaron started to complain a couple days ago that his ear was hurting. No fever but I gave him some meds to ease the pain. He woke the next day and said he was fine so we went about with our day. I knew in the back of my mind that this was not over but I tried to play it off as he hit it on something or laid on it wrong......tried to keep the word ear infection far from my mind.
Yesterday I was having the kids pick their stuff up off the counter to take it to their rooms......Aaron looked at me after a while with great big crocodile tears in his eyes and told me his ear hurt and he was going to go and lay down. I gave him a few minutes to lay down and and then went and checked on him. I checked his temp (which was fine) and again gave him some meds for the pain. He took over a 2 hour nap. Aunt Skris brought over some ear drops for him......I was trying to bide my time, knowing I had to take him in but I wanted to wait until this morning so we could go to Care Now rather then the ER......that didn't work. His temp shot up to 100.9. I gave him more meds and went to Target to get some Gatorade for him. By the time I got back it was up to 102.1 (yes with meds) so off to the ER we went. Sat there for ever! They had an entire waiting room full! Aaron slept most of the time and I watched the movie Rambo on the TV (What a stupid movie) We were finally called back (2 hours later) and the doctor came to check on him. He confirmed what I already knew.....ear infection. Put him on antibiotics and sent us on our way. Aaron still isn't felling good day. Still running a temp and his ear still hurts....I guess it will take a few days.
This had better not be the sign of what is to come! We have already been here, with ER visits and going to the doctor every week to being woke up to high fevers and crying......I have had a taste of the healthy life he can lead and am not willing to go back to this. Matt asked me last night if I thought maybe he gets so sick because he has been on every antibiotic at least 5 times each.....makes sense but I really don't know. They had better get to work on some new ones though because pretty soon none of these antibiotics are going to work for him.

I want my dad to help me

These words cut me like a knife tonight.
I have always been the one to help, the one that the kids run to when something is wrong but tonight these words were said to me.
Kaylee was being told to do her homework and sit down and read the chapter and quit talking like a baby and again read your chapter Kaylee, that is how you will find the answer. She told me that she didn't like my help because I am to hard on her.
I do admit it I am the hard one. I am the one who is trying to teach them to survive on their own.....not to expect anything.....if you want the work done then do it.....quit griping about it and do it. Helping with homework I actually made her do the work. So I was being to hard on her and she decided that my help is not needed and wants her dad to do it (naturally he said as long as he can get out bed.....whatever)
Matt sat down and made her read and when she read over the answer he told her "there is your answer right there." rather then making her find it herself......I am so frustrated! I'm not sure who I am more mad at Kaylee for hurting my feelings and speaking her mind or Matt for undermining me and not having the same values or teachings or strictness as me (is that a word?)
When she was ready to practice piano she asked me to come with her......I acted like a baby and told her to have dad help. I am sure this was not my finest moment but I didn't really care.
Now if you will excuse me I am going to go and cry myself to sleep!

mean mom

Ok first I try tomato soup and now this......... I am completely against video games. I hate how people get addicted to them. I think they make people lazy , the actual games are horrible! Granted I am sure there are a few good things about them.....eye/hand coordination.....ok that is the only one I can come up but I am sure there are a few more.
Kaylee had to save her money to buy a gameboy because her mean mom refused to buy her one. If we go anywhere that has video games they have to bring there own money because they aren't going to be using mine.....I am just all around a mean mom. They will either respect me completely when they are older or they are going to be in therapy.
Well Kaylee has been talking about this Nintendo wii since Christmas. I didn't think a lot into it before because I don't buy game systems. I just listened to her and let it go in one ear and out the other. A couple weeks ago she spent the night at Olivias, when I went to pick her up the next day they were playing the Nintendo wii that she and Tanner got for Christmas. Naturally Kaylee made me come and watch the game they were playing (tennis) I even had to play it....wasn't any good but whatever, I hate game systems so i don't need to be good. I must tell you that I was a little bit impressed. This one is not just a button that you press you actually have to swing your arm to hit the ball. The baseball game one person has to pitch the ball while the other swings the bat.......and the race car game I only saw for a second but Tanner was using it as a steering wheel.....this game system actually has you working your muscles.
Matt and I discussed on whether or not we should get the kids one for their birthdays. I still don't know if we made the right decision or not but we decided to go ahead and get one. they will be limited on playing it and I will have to approve every game. They are going to be so excited! I will let you know how it goes....hopefully I won't have to take it away the first day.......

tomato soup for the soul

Those of you that know me know that I do not eat tomato soup.....gross! Granted I have never had it but just the thought of it makes me sick. I was watching a home/self improvement show and they were teaching the wife how to make a quick and easy meal for when her husband brings home a client. Tomato soup with cheddar cheese stirred in it with toasted garlic bread to dunk in it. I am sure most of you know that I am not a dunker either.....it makes it soggy and then you get crumbs in the soup or what ever it is you are dipping it into.....well to make a long story not quite as long I thought the soup and bread looked yummy so I decided to try it. Went to the store to buy all the stuff and came home and made it.......let me just say YUM-O! I might have found a new favorite soup (for now anyway) and I am also broadening my horizon!!!
Yeah me!

The average Italian

I heard on the radio this morning that the average Italian gets 45 days of vacation a year. Can you imagine that! How nice would that be. Here we have people not even using all of their vacation because they think someone will come in and replace them or they have to much work to do or bla bla bla......always an excuse.

cookies cookies and more cookies

Kaylee sold 455 boxes of cookies this year. That is a little more then 100 boxes short compared to last year. She wanted to beat last years total but people weren't buying as many as they did before. The past 3 years she has been the top seller of our troop also but this year Serenity sold 590 and Kaylee and Amelia both came in 2nd with 455......still awesome totals and Kayle is satisfied with her number but I think she is already planning on how to sell even more next year.

Blue

We were driving the monster truck yesterday and Aaron decided to name it. His name is Blueberry Thomas the train. I think there was another name in there but I don't recall what it was. I told him I liked Blueberry. We can call it Blue and I can call out "You're my boy Blue" anytime I want! (reference from the awesome movie Old School) So it is official, the monster trucks name is Blue.

This thing is huge!

I am having a really hard time getting use to driving the monster truck. I have always had cars so this jump is really hard for me. I am told that I will get use to......I wonder how long that will take.

while we were out

Matt and Aaron were shopping around for a new car. We have been wanting a Pathfinder for quite some time now and we were planning on waiting a little bit longer but he got the new car bug and we got it now!
We LOVE it! I am having a hard time adjusting to it. It sits really high and I am use to a car. I don't think it will take me long though!!!

Bronze Workshop

Kaylee and I along with all of sister girl scouts went to a bronze workshop (all day) We a earned the Sign of the Sun and a badge. The girls all had a lot of fun. I didn't do a lot because the Seniors that were putting it on were doing it to earn their Gold Award. Towards the end they were talking tot he girls about how important Girl Scouts is and that if they earn their Gold Award they will be accepted into colleges easier then if they didn't have it. And some scholarships they can get for college. It was a great experience for them! (And I learned a lot also!!)

Did you here about the 9 year old boy?

Did you hear about this little boy? The other day he stole a car and went on a high speed chase with the police. Then the next day he lied and told Southwest airlines that he was 12 and that someone was waiting for him at the gate so he ended up flying to San Antonio. (getting caught there) What is up with this little boy? Apparently he wanted to be with his grandfather really bad. His mother said he learned how to drive by playing video games which I can understand......have you seen the video games now days?
I knew there was some other reason why I won't let the kids have one. Other then that I hate them and you become extremely and addicted to them.......you can now learn to drive a car and go on some criminal spree. Craziness!!!!

Matt and I were discussing this little boy yesterday and he said to Kaylee......"you would never steal the car would you?' and she said "oh no, I had a dream that mom had me go out and start the car and it started to back up and there was ghosts flying all over." I guess there is no need for me to worry about her.....Aaron on the other hand I can see him being just like Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights as a child stealing his moms, driving down the road yelling "GO FASTER!"
I will have to keep my eye on this child!

Back to Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts is in full swing again. Tonight we went to Hancok Fabric and learned some hand stitches. Tomorrow we go to Dallas for an all day Bronze Award workshop and then next Friday we go back and learn how to use the sewing machine. Should be fun! Kaylee is making a ton of plans on things that she is going to sew......should be fun!

another yuck day

Matt called me at 5:30 this morning to tell me he was on his way and that I better turn on the news to see if there was school. It had iced again throughout the night and the roads were bad. So I did just that. Pretty much all of DFW is closed. I called Donette to see if we were open....she was on her way in but told me and Susan to stay home (fine by me)
It has been quite a day........the kids went and played with Dylan and Luke and I have been watching TV all day. caught up on my Rachael Rays, I rewatched Boston Legal (fell asleep in it last night) Dirt (not quite sure about this one) and Days.......it has been a very relaxing day.
I believe everything is fine now but tonight we are suppose to freeze again which means the wet roads will be iced again tomorrow.....hopefully not! I'll let you know though.

My morning started out ok......

The kids are still at home. They don't go back to school until tomorrow so my morning started out ok. There was no getting the kids up and dressed to go, it was just me. I was doing pretty good too until I went to go and start my car. Now the day before I told you that it sleeted so everything was yucky, I should have gone out yesterday and just let my car run for a while. Maybe drove it around the block or something. It needed some heat to warm it up a bit. It started ok for me but when I went to leave the car the car door wouldn't shut! I tried it for a few minutes but decided to go and get Matt because honestly do I really know what I am doing? NO?!?!?!?! He reluctantly got out of bed to go and check it out. He came back in and told me he didn't know what I should I do (a lot of help there right) and he went back to bed. I tried to call Skris but there was no answer and then I called Susan. She was over by old Kroger so she turned around to come and get me. I got my stuff and went to wait outside and guess what, now the car door shut. I called her back and as I was climbing back in (I had to take the garbage to the curb) it again wouldn't shut. I made her stay on the line with me while I tried to figure it out and once again I got shut (as I was on the outside) I went over to the passenger side because I didn't want to open it again and guess what happened.....now this door wouldn't shut! I eventually got and started to drive. The entire way though my light that tells me there is a door open stayed on. After I got off of I-30 I started to hear something like there was a window open in the back. I checked my door locks and for some reason it wasn't locked. It always locks on its on but this time it didn't. I don't know if it is because the door was open or if it was on because it was to cold.......might have tot est this theory at a later date........ anyway I cautiously finished driving to work (by the way did I tell you that 30 was completely backed up! Made me later then I already was.) I parked at work and started to check my doors. Kaylees door had a huge gap in it. I stuck my finger in and pulled and it came open! Thankfully it never came open as I drove.......can you see my driving down the road and the door just swinging open. People would think I was crazy!
I guess my day got better from there. Nothing else really happened. Glad its over though. Tomorrow will be better.

Chili Bowl

Matt had a blast at the Chili Bowl race in Tulsa. He came home with lots of gifts (t-shirts, posters, model cars, etc.) which made the kids very excited. They had nasty weather on their way home but made it here by 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Matts favorite driver won the big trophy.....Tony Stewart. I posted a few pictures that he took. Tony is at the very top. He did get a better one of him but as I was down loading them on to my computer I picked this one instead (my mistake)

I wimped out this morning

A huge winter blast came through. It started a few days ago but the ice came last night. My car doors are frozen shut. I woke up early and called Donette to let her know that I was going to be a few hours late. I was going to let all of the early commuters get off the road to make it a little bit safer for me and let some the ice melt away. It has never warmed up so it is still icee out. Susan called me earlier and told me that I should just stay home. Cars are facing the wrong direction on I-30 and with me being the nervous driver that I am I should just stay home. I thought about it for a while and decided that she is right so I called Donette to let her know I am just going to take a personal day and stay home. Tomorrow they should have everything sanded so it should be better right? And I will have Matt to let me know how the roads are because he works tonight and will be able to let me know in the morning.

Kaylee came running in the bedroom this morning to wake up Aaron so they could go and play in the snow. She was a little shocked that I was home. "Mom? What are you doing here?" I laughed and told her what I was doing.

I swear I am such a wimp! You would think growing up where I grew up I would be fine with this stuff and I am I'm just not fine with all of the other drivers that don't know what they are doing. You have to protect oneself right!?!?!?!?!

My name has been changed

Aaron and I were talking last night and for some reason I called him jelly bean. I have a lot of little pet names for him and he has never said anything about it before. This time he said.........

Aaron - my name isn't jelly bean

Me - its not.....well is it grape jelly?

Aaron - no, its Aaron Nathanial Hansen

Me - thats a nice name........whats my name?

Aaron - I don't know......Krystal

Me - Krystal what?

Aaron - Krystal Nathanial Hansen

Me - are you sure?

Aaron - yes and daddys name is Matt Nathanial Hansen and sister is Kaylee Raye Hansen.

Me - well you got sisters right

Aaron - and aunt Skris's is Nathanial and cousin Sarah.....well shes not but she is still my family.

Then he left the room. Isn't that funny. There was no question on what our names were. This is what his name is so why wouldn't the rest of us have the same?

Friday, January 12, 2007

And then we put you back together!

Aaron and I were talking tonight and he made me laugh at something he said (naturally I can't remember what the conversation was) I laughed at him and said "you crack me up!" Without giving it a second thought he said "and then we put you back together!" I gave a huge belly laugh at him and he hugged me! What a funny child.

I gave away my blood again

I went and gave my blood again today. I was pleasantly surprised by the person who took it. He really hurt me as he marked my arm so he knew where to stick me but when he did the actual stick I hardly felt anything! He was awesome. I asked him if he was going to be sticking around there (In hopes that I would get him next time) and sadly told me no.....he is going back to school to become an x-ray tech.

another break from school

today is the kids Friday. They get Friday, Monday and Tuesday off for teacher inservice days. I can only imagine what the house is going to look like in the next couple days!

Christmas in January

Matt came home from work this morning with 2 large sacks from CVS filled with Christmas lights. They were 90% off. He got a bunch of clear and a bunch of multi-colored lights for $.39!
I went this afternoon after taking Kaylee to piano and picked up a about 10 more boxes of lights. 2 4-pack of christmas wrap and 1 single Christmas wrap for $.59 and $.29 and 2 rolls of mulit-ribbons for $.19! My coke was the most expensive thing I bought $1.29. (the price of soda is horrible now days!) It was very exciting.

Joshawa

I haven't given you an update on Josh in a while. A lot has happened......to make a long post a little bit shorter I will give you a few of the details. He went to court yesterday for a DWI and was sentenced to 3 years with the possibility of parole after 8 months. Mom said he is taking it ok, he went to say goodbye to them I assume yesterday and is there today.
I feel bad for Josh having this happen to him but when you drink and drive this is one of the possibilities that you could face. I believe this is the lesser of 2 evils, he could have killed himself or worse someone else. Everytime you drink and then decide to drive any of these could happen. Hopefully Josh with take this and learn from his mistakes as to not have them happen again.

I could've been rich!

Have you heard of the book Marley and Me, I just found out about it today. Apparently it is about a dog (a lab) that this family gets and their ups and downs raising it and then they have a child so there is more ups and downs with the dog. Why didn't I think of this? I could have made millions if I would have wrote a book about Jack! Everything that we went through with this mutt! From getting him in the Wal-Mart parking lot and being told he wouldn't get very big (yeah right.....he is HUGE) to them cashing my check at Brookshires days before the date I put on the check, to the phone number that they gave me that wasn't a working number, to them telling me they were from the Terrel pound and me calling them to tell them about the worms he threw up (yes to gripe about it) and them telling me they do not come to my Wal-mart to sell dogs, to Jackie throwing up all the nasty white worms that wiggled (thank goodness Matt was home because there is no way I could have cleaned that up!) to the ticks and fleas, then we get into him eating everything......the pond cord, the pool cord (you know he was electrocuted at some point so why did he do it twice?) to eating the pool chemicals, then all of the speaker wires, then Matts leather wallet (which he gave back to us by throwing it up!), to him getting into the Easter candy while we were gone and we were smacked in the face by the smell as soon as we walked in the door by whatever it was all over the floor (diarrhea or vomit......couldn't tell what it was), and the many times he got into the garbage. After all of this he finally calmed down a little bit......we decided Jack needed a playmate so we get little bitty Angel. Jack did NOT like her at all. He was ok with her about an hour and then he realized she wasn't going anywhere. He started to have diarrhea and throwing up. We watched him for a couple of days but when we noticed that he wasn't eating anymore and he wasn't getting better we knew we had to take him in to the vet.......this lovely mutt had an inflamed intestine caused from stress! (oh the guilt I felt after hearing that!) Then we get into him running away. He listens really well to us but if by some chance he gets out that front door he is gone and it is the best game in the world for him to play.......catch me if you can is his motto! You can't even bribe him back with food!
So you see, if I only would have thought about this before, I would have been set for life! To bad it takes someone elses idea for me to think "I could have done that!"

Please don't take this as me griping about Jackie because honestly he is the best dog in the world! We might have had a ton of horrible things happen while he was a puppy but he was still great (and still is) He has more personality then any dog I have ever met! Him and Angel are best friends and she has put him in his place a few times and he is awesome with the kids. When you get a dog that you can lay on you know you have a good one!

I should still be a blonde

Today is Sunday, first day back to CCD, or is it? I set the alarm last night to make sure we all got up early to get ready for Church. The kids got up ok. Aaron tried to negotiate with me to just go to class and not Mass because he wanted to play basketball when we got home. I tried to convince him that he could still play basketball after Mass but he still didn't want to go. We left the house at 8:50 to make sure we got there on time. The kids got their folders and books ready while we drove. We walked in the church and the first person I saw was Barbara (the head person of the Faith Formation program) she smiled at us told us good morning and then told us there was no class today. They start back up next weekend. GISD doesn't go back to school until tomorrow (I guess this means I had the kids miss the last day of class since GISD isn't on the same schedule as us)
We could have eliminated all of this if I would have just looked at the calendar.
And Aaron got his way, we didn't attend Mass this morning. We would have had to wait an hour and you know we aren't going to do that so we did our Sunday ritual and went to 7-11 to get our icee's and taquitos and came home.
I hope the day gets better from here.

A Night At The Museum

We went and seen this movie today. It was pretty good. Owen Wilson is so funny! He played an awesome cowboy.

week 1 was a good one

I wrote a post a while ago about the kids weekly calendars. They made it through the first week and each got their prizes. Aaron got $1.00 and Kaylee got a new bookmark. They both seemed to be pretty excited about it which is a pretty good sign that this will continue.

cookie time

Today is the first day for Girl Scout cookies. Our troops big fund raiser for the year. Matt was suppose to bring Kaylee up to work after she got home from school but his dad wasn't back from his doctor appointment so he wasn't able to (and he still isn't back.....they must have been pretty far behind!) So I had to go around at work to see if anyone wanted to buy some. So far she has sold 131 boxes. Last year she sold 575 boxes so she has a way to go before she reaches her personal goal (which is to beat last years amount) She still has the neighborhood (which she will do tomorrow) Matts work, aunt Skris's work, and Sarahs work so hopefully she will make it......wish her luck!

another funny Aaron moment

I almost forgot to blog about this. Matt might not appreciate it very much but it is to good to not tell you.
This weekend Matt was on the couch and Aaron and I were on the big puffy chair watching TV. (surprisingly we weren't watching either Ghostbuster movie) A commercial came on for Nutrisystem (some diet that you can still eat chocolate on) Aaron watched the TV very intently through the entire infomercial and after it was over this was our conversation.........

Aaron - "mom we need to get that."

Me - "what are you trying to say?"

Aaron - "if we get that daddy can get a flat stomach like me, you, and sister!"

I laughed and laughed. Thank goodness he wasn't referring to me!

asphalt

After I got home from the gym last night I walked in the house and Aaron was watching Ghostbusters 2 (he so takes after his mother.....loves the movie!) It was towards the end so I sat down to watch it with him. The scene it was in was the one where Vego (the man in the painting) was out of the painting and he was telling the baby that they were going to become one......Aaron said to me "If that ghost was in Texas I would kick his asphalt!" I looked at him weird because certainly he didn't say what I thought he said right! I said "what did you say?" He looked at me and said again "if that ghost was Texas and I was a Ghostbuster I would kick his asphalt!" I didn't know what to say to him. I couldn't wash his mouth out because technically he didn't say a bad word even though he meant it as a bad word. All I told him was that didn't seem to be a very nice thing to say so not to say it again. He said OK.

time to brag about my daughter

My daughter is talented! I know that she didn't get any of this from me and I don't think she got it from Matt (although that is what I tell people) I believe she got it from my dad.
She was practicing piano tonight and it sounded so good! I really hope she keeps up with this, she just might go places or she could just be extremely well rounded with things....either one is ok with me.
I have no one to compare her to because I have never been around someone who takes piano lessons that I heard on a daily basis but I really think she is good. Once I realized I had to sit in her room with her while she practiced (and she realized that she couldn't slack off anymore because I was in there) she started to figure out the notes and because of that she has exceled tremendously! I am so proud of her.
She did tell us over Christmas that she wants to take dance again (another thing she was really good in and with that I have proof because many people (not just family) have told me how good she is and how her body moves with the music) but I told her 1 more year of piano so she gets a firm foundation in it and then she can make up her own mind on if she wants to continue piano or dance.
Maybe someday I will have her in both but right now that is not feasible and if we did that then she wouldn't be able to be in soccer or softball so making her choose just one was the right thing to do. Besides it is always good to have to make choices right? You can't get everything that you want. (or can you?)

the kids weekly calendars

Aunt Skris came up with a great idea for my 2 children. I myself have come up with this idea before and have attempted to get it started but for some reason it never seemed to stick, this time I think it will. She made each kid a calendar and they have 2 chances to get their homework. If they are told more then twice they do not get a sticker for that day. (It is only for homework and I threw piano in there tonight because although she loves piano it takes me a while to get her started on it) anyway, very easy day for Aaron, he has no homework this week and Kaylee did her homework right after piano lessons. They both received their stickers for tonight. Anyway back to the premise of it......if they get a sticker each day of the week Monday through Friday then at the end of the week the calendar opens up and it reveals their prize for that week. She said it was going to be simple prizes so we shall see what it is. And at the end of the school year if they have gotten stickers every homework day they will get to go someplace of their choice, ie. Nickleramma or Chuck E Cheeses or something like that.
I am going to have no problems with Aaron. He loves to do his homework the problem I am going to have with him is getting someone to help him before I get home. Kaylee might be a little bit different. Right now she is excited because it is fun but I'm not sure how she is going to be a month from now. I hope they both make it to the end! I will keep you posted.

my year is not starting out very good

The beginning of the year is not turning out very good for me. Yesterday I noticed (after I got to work none the less) that I had a huge tooth paste stain on my shirt. I had a sweater on though so it somewhat covered up the stain. Well this morning was even better! I was driving to work and I went to take a drink of my yummy english toffee coffee and it spilt all over me! Burning hot coffee all over my shirt and pants. Someone didn't put the lid on all the way.......if I was a sue happy person I would sue the person who did that but I wouldn't get anything because it was all me! I am the one who made it extra hot and and I am the one who didn't put the lid on all the way. What an idiot!

My "Almost Famous" Son

I got 4 tickets to the Stars game Friday night. I knew that Kaylee and I weren't going because Kenzie was coming over but Matt was going to take Aaron and see if anyone else wanted to come along. With it being very short notice Sarah was the only one who went with them. It gave them an extra seat to put their coats in so it all worked out. Matt called me about 9:00 and told me that Aaron was on the big TVs that they have hanging up above the rink(teleprompters or something like that) and when they got home I was to tell Aaron that I saw him on TV (but Aaron didn't want daddy or Sarah to tell anyone)
When they walked in the door I told him that I saw someone very handsome on ESPN and that he looked a lot like Aaron. He grinned from ear to ear! I made his night by telling him that!

By the way.....the Stars won! YEAH!!!!

going back to school

I wish I could tell you more about this but when I wrote that post earlier I didn't think I was going to be able to post any thing tonight, I thought it would be tomorrow when they had their first day back.....well I was wrong so they haven't started yet.
Funny story though.....last year I didn't send Kaylee back on the day she was suppose to go back. I assumed because I had the day off so did she. We had a great day....went and watched King Kong at the theater, went out to eat.....it was an awesome day. The next day after school she told her dad that there was school the day before and that she had missed it. (all because of my stupidity in not knowing how to read a school calendar!) I sent her teacher a note but that was all I could do.
This year I tried to send them back a day early. Thankfully aunt Skris said something to me about it on Monday and I got up looked at the calendar otherwise I would have got them up and dressed and sent them on their way!
(I feel so bad for these kids having a mother like me! They are defiantly going to have to learn to fend for themselves!)

Kaylee is loving her basketball hoop! Her and her dad put it up Friday and finished it Saturday morning. They played a game of horse and pig (they each won one) and on Sunday she had me play with her. She is pretty good! I was never a basketball star by any means but I could at least make a shot........she did better then me but just like her and her dads games she won one and I won one!

Kaylee and Kenzie

Kaylee had Kenzie come and spend the night Friday. They had so much fun. Sat in Kaylees room and talked about the boys that they like (the boys are gross theory just isn't working with this child!) They played dress up and tea party and had a fantastic time! I finally got them to lay down at 1:00 so I went to bed......well the next morning when I got up they were on the couch. Mackenzie told me they stayed up all night! OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! At 3:00 papa made them breakfast and they watched cartoons from them on. It is starting!!!!!! They had a little bit of a slow start getting ready but we made it to the movie in time. What a cute movie! I knew what was going to happen and I still got all teary eyed! (what a baby) The girls and Sarah all really liked it too.

post 3

This one I am quite proud of myself. It was a little scary on my part but the kids enjoyed it to its fullest!
Saturday after we got back from Charlotte's Web (Which by the way was really good....I'll write more in a little bit) Hayden came over, well as to not focus to much on this part Jackie jumped on him because he was excited and scratched his back. I went home with him to explain it to Sandy. She told me not to worry about it. It really wasn't that bad of a scratch but I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable with having him come over here so i felt it necessary to do this. She made me feel better about it so now there are no worries.......so Sandy and I talked and talked and talked. Then we went outside and talked some more. Then we went to Bobby and Christys and talked some more then down the street and talked some more. Well while we were doing this my kids were riding their bikes. They had a blast! Now I suppose you are wondering why I don't ever let them ride their bikes well that is not the case, they ride their bikes all time but it is always right here. They are allowed to go 2 houses down on the left side of our house and 3 houses down on the other side. Always in my sight. Saturday I let them go down about 2 blocks (not quite but close) they were playing with Hayden, Kacin, Cameron, Ariel, and Haylee. They had so much fun. Well Sunday I let them do it again! This time I stayed at the house. I pulled weeds for a long time (not sure what is going on with my yard!) and then I sat in the garage and talked in the phone. They were gone a couple hours with a few check ins on Kaylees part (Aaron not so much) but she was watching him so I didn't need to worry to much!

I am sure you all think this is a pretty dumb post but you don't understand what a mile stone this is for me. The fears I have are crazy but at the same time I am told I have to let be kids......or I have to try. Anyway, huge accomplishment on my part. I am not ready to cut the strings yet (not until they understand that boys are gross (for Kay) and girls are gross (for Aaron) then maybe I can loosen them a little bit more........maybe!)

New years day.......all of us over slept. I don't think I crawled out of bed until 11 (Kaylee was already up but she said she hadn't been up long) I'm not sure what time Aaron woke up but when Sarah and aunt Skris came over at 1:00 he was awake but he was laying in my bed watching TV.
We played games all day. Started with bunco then it when on to Bull, then a few more card games and then Matt and I taught them how to play Double 12s......very fun domino game.
After everyone left the kids and I sat down and watched Ghostbusters 1 and 2......love these movies. Absolute classics! Aaron went around singing the theme some........Who ya gonna call?......It was very cute. He had Kaylee and I sing with him for a little while also.
That was my new years........I think we brought it in right!

post 1

New years eve.....we went over and played cards/domino's with Bobby and Christy.
We had a good time......drank a little bit and some great conversation with our favorite neighbors! We got home about 12:30, then we all crashed. Had a very difficult time getting up the next morning.
